Former Brave Combo member Bubba Hernandez leads his group Los Super Vatos in a performance this evening on lawn of the Courthouse on the Square.

Hernandez certainly hasn’t abandoned his origins — but his 2007 album Polka Freak Out infuses the genre with Tex-Mex, rhythm and blues, and cumbia, a Colom­bian folk and dance style. The show, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, is part of Denton Main Street Association’s Twilight Tunes, which continues every Thursday night through May and June.
