Sam Bass bike race to cut trail through Denton

The Greater Denton Sports Commission teams up with the Texas Bicycle Racing Association for the fourth annual Sam Bass Challenge Bicycle Weekend Sept. 26-27.

The event will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

The weekend race includes multiple bicycling events, with short and long rides and community races.

The Downtown Denton Criterium event on Sept. 27 will be a circuit around Oakland, Russell, Elm, Austin, Hickory, Industrial, Mulberry, Locust and Sycamore streets. Cycling enthusiasts will be able to watch the athletes whip along the course.
