Student films to screen Friday

Six documentary short films directed by UNT students premiere Friday.

The films were made as part of the college’s Radio, Television, Film and Performing Arts Master of Fine Arts program.

The films set to be shown include:

* Step Into Darkness — This short film explores blindness and its impact on a person’s life. Directed by Ryan Ferguson.

* Frogs and Snails — This autobiographical film chronicles the filmmaker’s reflections of his own journey to manhood in light of the birth of his second son. Directed by Marek Ryszard Dojs.

* Finding Juan Carlos — This film follows an 11-year-old boy who is trying to find his identity with the help of his mother. Directed by Arvind Daman Singh.

* The Ultimate Spirit — This film chronicles UNT students who are on the school’s Ultimate Frisbee team. Directed by Sean Greenthaner.

* Changing Keys — A documentary about the growing pains of an adolescent piano prodigy. Directed by Libia Lazcano.

* A Tale for Shmuli — A story about how courage and determination helps a person overcome the most unexpected situations. Directed by Omar Milano.
