Lewisville artist Nikki Coulombe is the featured artist for September in the 2009 Visual Arts Society of Texas Calendar. Coulombe said the work an artist does to create a finished piece is as important as the piece itself. “Images and ideas are powerful, and presenting them is what I do best, ultimately as a traditional artist most comfortable painting or drawing,” she said. “My approach toward art emphasizes value in the work process, where means to expression are diverse, and despite the outcome, creativity is an attitude toward life.” Visual Arts Society of Texas calendars are available at the Chestnut Tree, 107 W.
