Voter turnout strong in Argyle

ARGYLE — Voter turnout was robust at Argyle Town Hall, as residents reported receiving recorded messages for several candidates reminding them to vote Saturday morning.
A combined election for the town council and school board brought hundreds to the polls by noon, although it was unclear how many of the 429 who cast a ballot by 3:30 p.m. voted solely in the school board race, or in both races. Argyle City Secretary Codi Delcambre reported 749 people cast ballots during early voting — 265 in the ISD and 484 in the Town.
Candidates camped out around Town Hall created a carnival-like atmosphere, with tents, hay bales, classic pick-ups and even a goat on display.
