A mother resuscitated her 2-year-old son Thursday night after he rode his tricycle into the family swimming pool, according to a Denton police report.
Police and paramedics arrived in the 900 block of Bayfield Drive about 8:05 p.m.
They found the parents kneeling over the little boy at the side of the pool. The child was breathing at that point, according to the report.
The mother said she was watching the little boy play in the backyard and went inside for three to five minutes to check on her infant.
When she returned to the yard she found the boy floating in the pool alongside his tricycle.
The mother dived into the pool, rescued the child and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The child was not breathing but soon started breathing, according to the report.
The boy was taken by CareFlite helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Dallas, where he was reported in good condition but held overnight for observation, according to the police report.
