Government philosophy: The government is the instrument of the citizens and everything it does with minor exceptions needs to be open to the citizens

Closed door meeting thoughts: I have not seen it over used but can easily see how it could be.

Open records limits: In this day and age with technological resources the burden, if records are properly structure, can be minimized.  I cannot imagine the cost being so high as to be a real issue.

Campaign finance: Read named his business partner, Robert Shahan, as his campaign treasurer. He reported a $1,000 contribution from the Texas Association of Realtors Political Action Committee, and covered the rest of his expenses with a personal loan. He spent $6,000 with Dark Horse Productions in Corinth for campaign services and $92.01 with Booker Industries for mailing lists.
