Siamese rescue group seeks help for cats
08:38 AM CDT on Saturday, June 20, 2009
The Texas Siamese Rescue in Corinth is seeking donations to care for cats that are being displaced due to the economy.
Organization director Tonja Pfister said that since last July, cat owners from several states have returned 94 cats to the rescue group because they have lost their jobs and can’t afford to care for the animals.
The Corinth shelter takes care of 150 cats and seeks permanent homes for them, Pfister said. The nonprofit group is accepting donations of cat food, litter, gift cards for pet supply stores and cash.
