Blotter: Woman reports man peeping through window
07:20 AM CST on Friday, March 5, 2010
The spotlight fell on a Denton man when he least wanted attention early Thursday.
Police received a report at about 1 a.m. that a prowler was in a new neighborhood in the 3700 block of Northpointe Street. A woman said she was in her bathroom brushing her teeth and glanced up to see the face of a man staring in her window at her.
She called a friend, who called 911.
An arriving officer didn’t see anyone near the house, so he cruised slowly through the neighborhood. He spotted a man kneeling by a window on the side of a different house. He appeared to be peering in the window.
The officer turned on his powerful spotlight and illuminated the man, who appeared to have his pants down.
The officer knocked on the door, and a woman allowed him to look at her bedroom window. He could see that the window covering was not long enough to block the area.
Outside, the officer noted that if you knelt in the spot where the imprints of the man’s knees could be seen, you could see through the window.
He arrested the man on a charge of indecent exposure.

The man told the officer he had “done something stupid” at the goading of some friends. The officer noted that the man had two prior theft arrests. He took him to jail.
