The woman said two men ordered food and sat at a table in the shop. One of them got up, looked outside and nodded to the other man. The second man walked outside and stood there, according to the report.

The first man walked to the counter and asked the woman about applying for a job. Then he asked the woman what she would do if she were robbed. Before she could respond, he told her that she was getting robbed.

He showed her a gun in a shoulder holster and told her to open the cash register and hand over all the bills, according to a police report. He took the money and left.

The man with the gun was described as white, 40 to 45 years old, and about 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a medium build. He had short, dark hair and “scruffy” facial hair, and wore rimless glasses and a black baseball cap with a white emblem. He wore a black shirt, light-colored blue jeans and a black leather coat. The clerk said she believed he spoke with a Northern accent.

The lookout was a white man in his mid-30s with a thin build and blond hair. He wore a light-colored baseball cap with a white emblem, a white pullover shirt, blue jeans and black shoes or boots.

Anyone with information about the suspects should call Denton police at 940-349-8160.

Other reports

500 block of East Hobson Lane — A man reported to police at about 9:20 a.m. Sunday that two women sprayed him and his friend in the face with pepper spray and took their wallets.

The victim said he and the friend live in the woods near a park. They went to a store across town, he said, and a woman watched as he pulled money from his wallet to pay. When he returned to his car, she got in a car with two other women and followed him to the park.

The three women went over and began talking to the two men, who were sitting on a park bench. Two of the women pulled out pepper spray and sprayed the men in the eyes. The women grabbed the men’s wallets and left.

The victim said he does not know how much his friend lost, but he had $500 in his wallet.

Autumn Breeze Drive, Sanger area — An 18-year-old woman told Denton County sheriff’s deputies Monday that she is being harassed by her adoptive parents and is afraid for two small children in their house.

She said she was adopted at age 4 and was physically and sexually abused, according to a report. She said she recently reported the abuse and her adoptive father was arrested on a sexual assault charge. He posted bail and returned home, she said, and she moved in with an aunt.

Since that time, the couple has been following her around and trying to convince her to return to the house. They caused a disturbance at her workplace, she said. They have told her she is causing financial hardship by not contributing. They offered her money and a new car if she would return.

Recently, she reported, the adoptive mother pushed her into a bed corner, causing a deep cut on her leg.

Officers checked with the woman, who denied pushing her but said she slapped her in the face when she needed it, the report states.

Deputies checked on the young children, who appeared to be fine, according to the report.

100 block of Hickory Street — Three sheriff’s deputies and three Denton officers responded to the Courthouse on the Square on Monday evening after a witness reported that someone was putting graffiti on a column on the southwest area of the building.

The officers detained eight young people. None admitted painting graffiti in the area. The officers found some markings. They identified the suspects and issued citations to them. One adult had an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody. Five juveniles were released to their parents.
