Blotter: Owner reports loss of  pit bull named Prince

06:41 AM CDT on Monday, June 8, 2009

A five-month-old pit bull terrier named Prince was taken from his owner’s yard Saturday night in a neighborhood located off Dallas Drive and Teasley Lane, said Denton police Officer Scott Salazar.

Someone went into the yard, removed a chain from the dog’s neck and left with the animal, he said.

The pit bull is a white, 25-pound dog with brown spots around his eyes and down his back who resembles Petey from The Little Rascals, Salazar said.

Prince’s owners bragged that he was a purebred pit bull and worth about $1,500, Salazar said.

Police are investigating the incident. If anyone has seen the dog, they can call the police department at 940-349-8181.
