Blotter: Man armed with cutlery robs acquaintance
07:00 AM CDT on Wednesday, August 6, 2008
A man told Denton police that someone he slightly knows came to his apartment late Monday, stabbed him and took his wallet.
The victim said he was inside his apartment in the 600 block of West Eagle Drive about 10:25 p.m. when the man knocked on his door and asked to come inside. When he let the man in, the man suddenly “rushed” him, the victim said, knocking him back into the bedroom. They fought on the bed, and the man produced two kitchen knives from his pockets.
The victim said they struggled over the knives and then the man stabbed him in the back, near a kidney. The man grabbed the victim’s wallet and ran out the door, he said.
Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital emergency room, where he was treated for the non-life-threatening stab wound as well as cuts on one shoulder, a thumb and an elbow.
He gave a description of his attacker. Police are investigating.
