Blotter: Police arrest suspects after extended chase
07:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, September 8, 2009
A driver who didn’t want to stop for an apparent speeding violation has a lot more to answer for after being arrested by Denton police officers early Monday.
The chase began at about 3 a.m. with Northlake police in pursuit of a vehicle on Interstate 35 that would not comply with officers attempting a traffic stop.
“The vehicle was speeding and the guy didn’t want to stop, so the pursuit was on after that,” said Northlake police Sgt. Bobby Dowell.
Pursuit continued and soon involved Justin police and county sheriff’s vehicles.
The suspects made it to Denton and ditched their vehicle in the 2300 block of Canterbury Court.
Denton police Sgt. Brian Blalock said one of the suspects was located at 3:49 a.m. and the other was found hiding in some trees at 4:28 a.m., according to police.
