Blotter: Deputies save unconscious boater
09:32 AM CDT on Wednesday, September 8, 2010
Denton County sheriff’s lake patrol deputies rescued a man who knocked himself unconscious while piloting a personal watercraft Monday afternoon.
According to a sheriff’s report, the deputies were patrolling southern Lewisville Lake when they saw the boater “wipe out.” The man apparently hit his head on the watercraft when it overturned, and he was knocked unconscious, according to the report.
The deputies were on another call but responded to help the man, and were aided by a nearby boater. The deputies transported the victim to a marina to meet an ambulance, and he was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
According to the report, moments later the deputies responded to another personal watercraft accident, in which a man received cuts from his handlebars. They took him to meet another ambulance, and he was taken to a local emergency room for treatment.
Other reports
600 block of East Hickory Street — A woman told Denton police Monday that a local doctor tried to sexually assault her several times in September 2008.
She said the doctor touched her inappropriately and told her he wanted to have sex with her. He told her he would not write prescriptions for her medication if she didn’t comply, she reported.
She said that after several instances, she started taking her granddaughter along for office visits to discourage his behavior. She finally changed doctors, but the former doctor called the new doctor and told them she was addicted to the medication, she said.
She has not seen her former doctor in two years, but she can’t get the incidents out of her mind, she told police.
