09:17 AM CST on Wednesday, November 19, 2008
A man was accused of shoplifting from a store in the 1500 block of South Loop 288 Monday by concealing items in his pants, according to a police report.
Denton police responded to the store shortly after 8 p.m., when an employee claimed a man took a carpenter’s square and two tire gauges totaling about $13.
The employee told police that the items were taken from their packaging and placed in the pockets and down the back of the man’s pants. The man exited the store without paying for the items, according to the report.
The employee said the man was followed out of the store, where he was confronted and the items were retrieved. The man apologized and said he would pay for the merchandise.
The man received a citation.
