Blotter: Man reports gun incident at trailer home

08:25 AM CST on Tuesday, December 15, 2009

By Donna Fielder / Staff Writer

Denton County sheriff’s deputies are investigating an incident reported early Monday involving a man, his girlfriend, her former boyfriend, the former boyfriend’s brother and a gun.

The boyfriend said the woman asked him to take her to the trailer where her former boyfriend lives so she could retrieve some of her belongings.

He took her to the 2000 block of Lakeview Lane near Denton and she went inside.

He waited a long time, he said, and then he got out of his truck and sent her a text message inquiring when she would be out. She texted back that she would be right there.

Instead, her former boyfriend came out and charged him, the victim said. The former boyfriend’s brother came out, fired a gun into the air and told the victim to leave, according to the report.

The victim said he tried to get in his truck but the brother grabbed him and put the gun to his head, again ordering him to leave.

The man then fired the gun again, the report states.

The victim jumped into the truck. While he was trying to leave, the brother broke out one of his headlights and the former boyfriend broke his windshield, the report states.

He went home, alone.

Other reports

George Foster Road, Ponder area — A man called sheriff’s deputies Friday to report that an older boy burned his 11-year-old son with a knife blade.

The boy showed the deputy a burn on his arm in the shape of a pocketknife blade.

He said that on the way home from school, he was leaning forward in his bus seat talking to a boy in the seat ahead. He said he felt something burning his arm.

He realized that the older boy had heated the blade of his pocket knife with a cigarette lighter and then laid the knife against his arm, the report states.

1900 block of Manten Boulevard — Someone impersonated a police officer to a man on his way home late Friday, according to a police report.

The victim said he stopped at a fast-food restaurant and bought a soft drink. As he was driving, he spilled the drink and swerved a bit, he said.

He pulled into his driveway and a man in an older-model blue Chevrolet Avalanche stopped behind him and walked up to him.

The man said he was an off-duty Denton policeman. The victim asked to see his badge and the man said no. The man was not wearing a uniform and didn’t have on a gun, according to the police report.

The man used his cellphone to call someone. Though the victim had not given his name or address, the other man told the person on the telephone who the victim was.

The victim was frightened, he said. He reached inside his vehicle and grabbed a retractable metal weapon. He told the man to leave, and he did. An investigating officer found there was no record of any real officer stopping the man or calling in his information.
