Burroughs has slight lead after early voting

In the race for Denton mayor, Mark Burroughs leads Perry McNeill by 54 votes after early voting ballots were counted.
With about 46 percent of the vote, Burroughs could be headed to a runoff with McNeill, who held nearly 43 percent. Other challengers, Justin Bell (10 percent) and Darac Favre (less than 2 percent), were lagging far behind.
City council races between Joe Mulroy and Jerry Mohelnitzky for Place 6 and John Ryan and Rudy Moreno for Place 2 remained within two percentage points after early voting.
Pete Kamp was leading Mike Sutton for Place 5 by more than a 2-to-1 margin.
