Fundraiser nets $1,800 to help cancer patient
08:17 AM CDT on Tuesday, July 1, 2008
A recent fundraiser dinner and silent auction in the community clubhouse of Providence Village resulted in more than $1,800 in aid for Ann Campbell, a Providence Village resident and cancer patient.
Campbell was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2001, but after undergoing a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, she was cancer-free for six years. But in February, Campbell was diagnosed with recurrent breast cancer metastasis, grade III, meaning the cancer has now spread from her breast to her bones, lymph, liver and lungs.
Donations are still needed, since the out-of-pocket expenses for Campbell’s treatments will range somewhere between $70,000 and $100,000.
