Groom-to-be drowns at his bachelor party
03:55 PM CDT on Monday, June 16, 2008
A Houston man celebrating his impending wedding drowned in a friend's pool at his bachelor party in Corinth early Saturday, police said.
Friends found the man's body near the steps of the pool about 3:30 a.m. in the 300 block of South Shady Shores, said Frank Lott, a Corinth police spokesman. The victim was identified as Emerson Weaver, 27. Police said the death appears to be an accident.
Friends pulled his body out of the pool and tried CPR, Mr. Lott said.
Police are investigating whether he fell as he was trying to get out of the pool.
Mr. Lott said the party was to celebrate the man's wedding and another friend's marriage a few weeks ago.
