Resident to lead Air Force’s Thunderbirds

Lt. Col. Case Cunningham of Denton will serve as commander of the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, commonly known as the “Thunderbirds,” during the 2010 demonstration season, according to an announcement on the Air Force Web site.

Cunningham is a 1990 graduate of Denton High School and a 1994 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He is the son of Gary and Dana Cunningham of Denton.

Previously serving at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, he will join the team as the 33rd commander of the “Ambassadors in Blue.”

All team members are hand-picked based on a proven record of service, capabilities in their field and a demonstrated commitment to excellence, according to the announcement.

  • Make sure "Preserve Favorites website data" is unchecked.
  • Make sure "InPrivate Filtering data" is checked
  • Click the "Delete" button.
  • Click the "OK" button to exit the internet options window.
  • Refresh the page
