The vote took place during a regularly scheduled faculty senate meeting.

Stuart, who also is TWU’s president, addressed the faculty earlier in the meeting in hopes of answering lingering questions over recent budget cuts, the search for a new provost and the morale of the faculty.

However, faculty senate members said they were dismayed by the answers given and felt she did not adequately address the questions.

The vote was taken by secret ballot. Twenty-four faculty members agreed to the resolution, one voted against it and three abstained.

The resolution will be sent to TWU’s Board of Regents. Faculty senate members said they hoped the board would acknowledge the no confidence vote.
