Volunteers to help at church

07:17 AM CDT on Friday, October 30, 2009

Volunteers will gather Saturday morning at the First Christian Church of Aubrey, 410 N. Main St., to help renovate a building. Built in 1953, the building was once used for an annual community Thanksgiving meal, for Scout meetings and church mission efforts.

About 20 volunteers from Northway Christian Church in Dallas will join 15 to 20 local residents to work from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Volunteers will be working to bring the building up to code and applying fresh paint, church members said. Air conditioning and heating will be added.
