Blotter: Woman reports items ruined by roommate

07:09 AM CDT on Tuesday, April 7, 2009

By Donna Fielder / Staff Writer

A woman told Denton police Sunday that her roommate ruined all her belongings after telling the woman to move out.

The woman said she and the roommate argued Wednesday and she was told to pack her property and move.

The woman said she left town for a few days. She got two telephone calls while she was gone telling her to get out, she said.

Then she received an unpleasant text message and a picture of her property piled up and vandalized, according to the report.

She returned to the apartment Sunday and found the roommate had poured bleach, flour, eggs, milk, soda, syrup and hot sauce all over her things, the report stated.

The damage figure was placed at approximately $3,520.

Other reports

500 block of South Elm Street — A woman reported to police about 2:40 a.m. Sunday that she got up to dance at a club, leaving her pink cellphone on the table. When she returned to the table, the phone was gone.

Club surveillance video showed a man picking up the phone and running from the business.

1500 block of South Loop 288 — An employee watched a shopper pick up two bags of Skittles at a large discount store about 10:30 p.m. Sunday. The man then moved to another area of the store and stuffed the Skittles down the front of his pants, according to the report.

When the man tried to leave the store without paying for the candy, the report states, he was detained for police and taken to jail on a theft charge.
