12:25 AM CDT on Sunday, June 28, 2009
The sixth suspect wanted in connection with three related crimes was apprehended by Denton police Saturday and taken to the city jail after he reportedly attempted to evade arrest, according to a police report.
Rodney Deon Young, 17, was arrested on suspicion of organized criminal activity and evading arrest, according to information from the police department.
No bail amount was set as of Saturday evening.
Young allegedly started dodging pursuing police officers near his residence off Shady Oaks Drive and South Woodrow Lane midday Saturday by hiding in a creek bed and running alongside a wooded area, according to the report.
Officers continued to report sightings of Young until they closed in on him at the softball fields at Mack Park off East McKinney Street and he surrendered.
Young is reportedly wanted in connection with a burglary and two attempted holdups, the report stated.
Five other men were also arrested in connection with those crimes.
