Blotter: Police: Man may have used finger in holdup

10:36 AM CDT on Friday, July 4, 2008

By Donna Fielder / Staff Writer

A disguised man apparently used his finger to hold up a convenience store Wednesday night, according to a police report.

The store clerk called police for help from the 1600 block of Scripture Street about 11:40 p.m., saying she was working by herself when a man came into the store and demanded that she hand over the cash drawer. He took all the $20 and $5 bills from the tray and left, the clerk said.

The woman said the man was wearing a cap over long, brownish-blond hair and a red T-shirt with “Aggies” on it in white letters. He had his hands under the shirt and pointed something at her that might have been a gun.

Officers viewed the store’s surveillance camera. The hair looked like a wig attached to the cap and pulled around the man’s face, according to the report. The officers noted it appeared that the suspect was pointing his finger under the shirt.
