Blotter: Police arrest couple in vehicle at water park

07:05 AM CDT on Tuesday, July 8, 2008

By Donna Fielder / Staff Writer

Denton police arrested a couple after finding them having sex in a Ford Expedition at Water Works Park.

An officer saw the couple get into the sport utility vehicle in the parking lot about 4:35 p.m. Saturday. There was a sun shield in the windshield, and the officer could not see the couple once they were inside, but the vehicle did not leave.

After 20 minutes, the officer investigated and could see them through the side windows having sex, according to the police report. The officer directed them to dress and then questioned them.

The couple said they are married and their children were still inside the water park. There was an outstanding arrest warrant for the man, and the officer found tablets of a controlled substance for which the woman didn’t have a prescription in her purse.

Other reports

5200 block of East U.S. Highway 380 — A woman called for help about 2:20 a.m. Saturday. She said her son called and asked her to pick him up at a party he had been attending in Sanger. She did, but he was intoxicated and belligerent on the way home, according to the report.

He demanded that she let him out of the car, so she did.

But after she arrived home, the son began calling for her to fetch him. She refused, but he called again and again.

He finally walked the several blocks to the home, kicked in the front door, grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the left front tire on her car, according to the police report.

Officers took him to jail.

4800 Lockheed Lane — Three men who own a hangar next to his at the municipal airport have been harassing him since 2003, a man told police.

The men are angry about a splashguard and also believe they own part of his property, he said. The men have changed the address on his hangar, written obscenities on it and broken several splashguards, he said.
