Blotter: Couple reports 4 men robbed them at home
07:25 AM CST on Thursday, December 10, 2009
Denton County sheriff’s deputies are investigating an apparent home invasion robbery that took place early Wednesday in the 100 block of Eagles Nest Circle in the Argyle area.
According to sheriff’s reports, a couple returned home from a trip and began watching television in bed.
About 12:30 a.m., four men burst into their bedroom, two of them brandishing guns. They stripped a $15,000 wedding set from the woman’s hand and told the man to open a safe in the closet. The men took about $8,000 from the safe.
Then they tied up the couple with some of the man’s ties and ransacked the house, taking more than $70,000 worth of electronics and jewelry.
The couple described the intruders as Spanish-speaking men wearing masks, gloves and “ninja clothing.”
The victim said he thanked the men as they left for not harming the couple. He said one of the men used his nickname and told him, “You don’t have any friends in this world.”
The victim said he did not know the men but one of his dogs seemed to recognize the voice of one of them.
When the couple had arrived home, they noticed a vehicle parked in front of their home.
After the robbery, the vehicle was gone, according to a sheriff’s report.
