Area winners advance in free throw contest

Several Denton County youngsters will advance to the district level after taking first place in their respective age groups during a Jan. 16 free throw contest sponsored by Lake Ray Roberts Area Elks Lodge 2862.

Peyton Krueger, event chairman, reported that a total of 62 competitors ranging in age from 8 to 13 took part in the contest, which was held in Sanger. First-place winners advanced and then competed Saturday in Plano.

In the 8-9 age bracket, Kendal Stewart of Sanger won the girls division, and Michael Holmberg of Ponder won the boys division.

Taylor Hurst of Ponder took first place in the 10-11 division for girls, and T.J. Pullen of Ponder took first among boys.

In the 12-13 bracket, Jacy Beam of Sanger took first place in the girls division and Johnny West of Sanger captured first in the boys division.

Make sure "Preserve Favorites website data" is unchecked.
Make sure "InPrivate Filtering data" is checked
Click the "Delete" button.
Click the "OK" button to exit the internet options window.
Refresh the page
