Pfc. Codie Bannister, 21, of Lewisville, recently graduated from boot camp at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego.
While successfully completing 13 weeks of intensive training, Bannister was appointed squad leader, then guide or platoon leader. He also was Platoon Honor Man, Company High Shooter and received the Platoon High PFT award.
After military combat training at Camp Pendleton, he will undergo military occupation training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
Bannister is the son of Glen and Denise Bays, formerly of Lewisville and now of Argyle. He graduated from Lewisville High School in 2007.
