Items reportedly stolen, damaged at storage unit

An Austin business owner reported Friday afternoon that nearly $41,000 in property was stolen from storage units in the 2600 block of Mayhill Road.

Sometime between January and March 25, someone broke into two storage units, causing about $1,500 in damage, according to a police report. An air-conditioning unit was also damaged.

Tower lighting, copper wire and air-conditioning units were among items taken, according to the report.

Other reports

1500 block of Meadows Street — A University of North Texas student found several items taken from his apartment Friday, according to a police report.

He reported stolen a Macintosh PowerBook laptop, worth $2,500, a Dell laptop, worth $1,000, an LCD television, worth $1,950, and an iPod stolen sometime between 3:45 and 7 a.m.

1100 block of West University Drive — A man was arrested Friday evening after knowingly threatening law officers with a sword “with imminent bodily injury,” according to a police report.

600 block of East Hickory Street — A Denton man reported to police Thursday that his sport utility vehicle was unaccounted for.

His son had possession of the vehicle before he was placed under arrest, according to the report.

After speaking with some of his son’s friends, he was told the SUV was traded for drugs, the report said.

The father told police he gave no one other than his son permission to have the vehicle.

100 block of North Woodrow Lane — A woman told police Friday morning that her husband’s pregnant girlfriend is harassing her every time she goes to see him in the Denton County Jail.

The girlfriend is also leaving messages on her cellphone, according to the report.
