Blotter: Woman reports suspect items

09:49 AM CST on Tuesday, December 2, 2008

By Donna Fielder / Staff Writer

Denton police are investigating after a woman came home from a vacation Sunday and found packages in her luggage that she did not pack.

Officers responded after the woman called from the 2700 block of Colorado Boulevard. She showed them several packages that were not hers and said she found them in her suitcase. She believed the packages might contain narcotics, according to the police report.

Officers photographed the packages in the suitcases and took them for testing to determine what they contained.

1600 block of Mohican Street – A man reported to police Friday night that a woman he knows came to his home and demanded that he give her some of his pain medication.

He told the woman no, according to the report, and she flew into hysterics and began beating him with her fists.

The woman left but returned an hour later and repeated her demand for his pain medication and then attacked him again.

The man said this is not the first time she has attacked him and he wanted to file a complaint.

7200 Chittenwood – A woman reported to police Saturday afternoon that a neighbor child threw sand in her child’s face.

The woman said her family was in the front yard putting up Christmas decorations about 4:15 p.m. when she noticed the 8-year-old boy in the next yard call her 18-month-old son over to the property line. Then the older boy threw sand at the toddler, she said, so she called 911.

She said she intended to take the child to the emergency room to make sure he was not injured.

An officer contacted the mother of the older child, who was not aware of the incident, she said. She made the boy talk to the officer. He admitted throwing sand but said he didn’t think it would hurt the neighbor, according to the report.

His mother said she planned to plant a hedge to avoid more trouble with the other family.
