Millard Willis
Millard Willis, 72, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away Monday, December 29, 2008. He was born in Elizabeth, Louisiana on April 20, 1936 to Adrey Thompson Willis and the late Otis Willis. Millard was raised in Pitkin, Louisiana until he joined the Marine Corps. In 1955, Millard enlisted where he served honorably until 1958, leaving the Marine Corps as a sergeant. On March 19, 1959 he married Gwendolyn Wynon Phillips. They began their marriage in Pitkin, Louisiana, and then moved to Aubrey, Texas where they raised their family and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. In 2004 Millard and his wife moved to Cabot. Along the way, Millard was Past-President of the Local AFL CIO Union at Peerless Manufacturing Company in Dallas and a member of the Lions Club of Aubrey. He is preceded in death by his father; and brothers, Croy Willis and Jimmie Willis.
Millard is survived by his mother, Adrey of Cabot; his loving wife, Wynon of Cabot; children, Michael and wife, Joy and Sharon and husband, CPT Jeffrey Dietz of Fort Riley, Kansas; four grandchildren, Brandon Michael Willis, Justin James Willis, Katelyn Adrey Dietz and Elizabeth Grace Dietz. He was a wonderful son, loving husband, father, and Papaw.
Visitation will be from 7 – 8 p.m., on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2009 at Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery with the Rev. James Helfers officiating.

Nan Vines
Nan Vines, 82, passed away on November 4, 2008 in The Woodlands, TX. She was born May 21, 1926 in Denton County to Woodie and Flora Mae Christian and preceded her loving husband, of 57 years, in death by 1 month, 3 weeks and 25 days. She is survived by her sister, Charlie Mae Rollins of Denton.
Doug Vines
Doug Vines, 78, passed away on December 29, 2008 in The Woodlands, TX. He was born in Roscoe, TX on April 29, 1929 to Mike and Lois Vines. He is survived by his brothers, Joe Vines and wife Jettie of Garland and Weldon Vines and wife Evelyn of Livingston.
Doug and Nan were married on September 7, 1951 and are survived by their daughter, Elizabeth and husband, Terry and grandson, Chris, all of The Woodlands. They are also survived by their best friends, James and Gaile Ellis of Burleson. Both retired school teachers; they resided in Burleson from 1962-1977 and were charter members of Crestmont Baptist Church.
A celebration of Nan’s life was celebrated on November 9, 2008 and a celebration of Doug’s life is set for 10 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2008 in Forest Park, The Woodlands Cemetery.

Ernesto Rubio-Garcia
Ernesto Rubio-Garcia, 32, of Pilot Point, Texas, passed away in a car accident on Sunday, December 21, 2008. He was born in Tlanepantla, Mexico on September 4, 1976. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Natividad Garcia.
He is survived by his fiancé, Jennifer Grames; daughter, Isabell Grames; father, Jose Nicolas Rubio; sister, Marabell Reza and husband Rene; and niece Valerie Reza. Ernesto will be greatly missed by many.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 3, 2009 at 11 a.m., at Lewisville Bible Church, 609 S. Charles St., Lewisville, TX 75057.
Lindsey Rey Trelease
Lindsey Rey Trelease left this earth to enter her heavenly home on Saturday, December 27, 2008 in Denton, TX. She was welcomed into this world in Klamath Falls, OR on December 7, 1986. She lived in Klamath Falls, OR for first 15 years of her life. While in Klamath Falls, she attended Roosevelt Grade School and Ponderosa Junior High School. She was involved in gymnastics and the YMCA Baseball.
Her faith was important to her and she accepted Jesus as her Savior at age 14 and was baptized at the Merrill Oregon Baptist Church and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Denton.
She moved to Denton with her mother in the summer of 2001 and attended Denton High School. Lindsey was a very loving, caring young woman and was especially good with elderly persons and little children. At the time of her death, she was a student of North Central Texas College.
Lindsey was always a happy outgoing young girl and made friends very easily. Her many friends were very important to her. She loved music, reading and writing short stories and poetry. She also loved her pets, especially her parents’ cat and dogs.
Lindsey is survived by her mother and step-father, Deedee and Ron Denney of Denton; her father and step-mother, Mark and Lois Trelease of Klamath Falls, OR; husband, Travis Johnson of Denton; grandparents, Carrie and Ron Morris of Red Bluff CA, Raymond and Carol Hinds of Tulelake CA, and Ron and Gerri Denney of Highland Village, TX. She is also survived by her aunts, uncles and cousins, Kenny and Dawn Hinds, Cidney and Audrey Hinds of Gardnerville NV, Debbie and Ted Woodhouse of Merrill OR, Carmen and John Bair, Nicholas Bair and Meghan and Tom Losk of Klamath Falls, Robyn Trelease and her fiancé, Robert Schildt of Lakeview OR, Don and Fiina Trelease, Madi, Trystin Trelease and Raija Guptill of Klamath OR. She is also survived by step-brothers, Keaton and Lee Denney of Lewisville, TX, and Tyler Sheasby of Klamath Falls; and step-sister, Kendall Denney of Plano, TX. She is also survived by numerous other family members and her many dear friends.
A service in honor of Lindsey’s life will be held Friday, January 2, 2009 at 5 p.m., in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors, 22025 W. University Dr., Denton, TX 76201.

Harvey Clements
Harvey Clements, 68, of Mineola, TX passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 in Tyler, Texas. He was born February 2, 1940 in Hinesville, Texas. He was a V.P. of Data Processing. He owned his own Accounting Business, H & G Services and retired in 2000. He served as past Dist. Governor of Lions Club, of which he had been of member since 1969. He served as Secretary and President of Mineola Lions Club, he was a member of Caring and Sharing and Lake Country Playhouse, he was a Board Member of the Mineola Youth Foundation and a Board Member of JC’s in Irving and was a lifetime member of the Texas Lions Camp and a Melvin Jor Fellow.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward Lee Clements and Thelma Marie Stewart and sister, Mary Ann Croxton.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Clements of Mineola; two sons, Harvey Rush Clements II and wife Tina of Mineola, and Edward Hunter Clements and wife Crystal of Sanger, TX; three daughters, Sherry Ann Vann and husband Larry of Mineola, Karen Sue Williams and husband Michael of Midlothian, Lisa Diane Broom and husband Blake of Uniontown, Ark; two brothers, John Clements of Dallas, TX and Edward Lee Clements, Jr. of Allen, TX; one sister, Peggy Baird of Lampasas; and 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons David Vann, Justin Vann, Christopher Clements, Sebastian Clements, Joshua Clements, Shawn Thomson, Paul David Ware II and Samuel Broom.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola, Texas. In lieu of flowers please send memorials to Texas Lions Camp or Caring and Sharing.
Waldene Knapp
Waldene Knapp, 86, of Pilot Point, formerly of Prosper, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008 in Pilot Point. She was born January 7, 1922 in Prosper to Jerry and Bessie Couser Moore. She graduated from Prosper High School. She married Emory Knapp on April 20, 1940 in Aubrey. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2001. She was a member of Mustang Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 1, 2009 from 4 to 6 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Friday, January 2, 2009 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Dr. Jimmy Law and Rev. Tracy Epting officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Prosper.
She is survived by a daughter, Patsy Price of Pilot Point; son, Charles Knapp of Prosper; sisters, Woodie Spradlin of Weatherford and Mariom Spalding of Ponder; brother, Tom Moore of Celina. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Jacob Pena
Jacob Pena, 78, admired and beloved husband of Mrs. Hazel Pena, father of Mrs. Karen Hale, Denton and Kelly Weathers, Lebanon, TN died in peace in his home on December 28th, 2008. Known as “Jake”, friends and family often heard him speak about “Fiddler’s Green”, an afterlife paradise for sailors and soldiers where he could share lore and more. This was only one of many tales. He dedicated forty-three years of loyal service to the government of the United States of America.
Travel began in 1948 when he left his landlocked hometown of Trinidad, Colorado, California-bound to seek adventure and serve his country. Thirty years later in 1978 this AFCM Master Chief received an honorable retirement celebration at the Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland. He stayed active to the Department of the Navy as a logistics engineer in Northern Virginia until October 1992 when he moved to Denton, Texas to enjoy life with his family and grandchildren, Jaquelyn and Alex Marti.
Disciplined and steadfast in his beliefs, Jake embraced life with gusto. A passionate descendant of Spaniards from Asturias and New Mexico, he was a global thinker, military history buff, library enthusiast and he valued education. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. Committed to freedom of speech, he enjoyed debate and language. A conservationist and protector of abused animals, Jake rescued many from suffering. He cherished his British wife and adored his daughters. He loved his sisters Valentina and Consuela and the in-laws.
A memorial service with full military honors will be on December 31, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. David of Wales in Denton, TX.
