William. C. Crouch

William. C. Crouch, 75, of Denton, passed away May 9, 2008 at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 26, 1932 in Dallas, Texas, to Elzie and Edra Crouch. He married Deborah Norris at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, on August 25, 1956. He was a United Methodist pastor, who in his 54 years of ministry served churches in Montana, New York, and Texas. He was also a District Superintendent of the Dallas-Denton District of the church from 1972 to 1977 and the Dallas-Northeast District from 1991 to 1997. He was elected as a delegate to the 1988, 1992, and 1996 United Methodist Church General Conference and was a jurisdictional conference delegate 6 times from 1976 to 1996. He was also nominated by the North Texas Conference as a candidate for Bishop in 1996.

From 1977 to 1991, Bill Crouch was the pastor at First United Methodist Church in Denton. The church grew in membership and attendance during his 14 years as senior pastor. The church had an active social ministry helping to establish the Denton Prenatal Clinic, Denton’s first recycling program, and the assistance program now called Denton Interfaith. He returned to the church as an associate pastor in 1999 following his retirement from the Appointment System and continued his service to the United Methodist Church for the remainder of his life.

As a community leader in Denton, Bill Crouch served on the City of Denton Human Services Committee, The Board of Directors for the Denton Pre-Natal Clinic, Denton Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Denton Assistance Center Board, and two city bond committees. He was a member and past president of the Denton Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow.

Bill Crouch lived his life dedicated to John Wesley’s ideal that “The World is my Parish”. The calling of his life was to preach and teach the word of God and through word and action, lives could be changed and the world could become a better place for all people.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Debby Crouch: four children, Tim Crouch and wife Camille of Denton, Rev. Mary Beth Hardesty-Crouch and husband Rev. Brian Hardesty-Crouch of Allen, Joel Crouch and wife Tammy of Plano, Sarah Frerking and husband Michael of Springfield, Missouri, and 9 grandchildren; Charles Wesley Crouch, Mitchell Crouch, Katie Crouch, Claire Crouch, William Crouch, Natalie Frerking, Gabrielle Frerking, Mia Frerking and Christopher Hardesty-Crouch. He is also survived by his brother Bob Crouch, wife Patsy of Silver Spring, Maryland and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Celebration Service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at 10:00am at First United Methodist Church in Denton. Visita­tion will be held at the church on Monday May 12, 2008 at 7:00pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Denton, the Denton Rotary Club, and the Anshel Brusilow Chair in Orchestral Studies challenge grant at UNT.

 

 

Lee Roy Pelmore, Jr.

Lee Roy Pelmore, Jr., passed way Tuesday, May 6, 2008.

He is survived by daughter, Jo Ann Pelmore; sons, Lee Roy Pelmore, III and James Martin Pelmore.

Viewing will be at Aria Cremation Service and Funeral Home, 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75252 on Monday, May 12, 2008 from 12 – 5 p.m. Memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Krum on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 1 p.m.

Ossie L. Seastrunk

Ossie L. Seastrunk passed away on May 7, 2008 at Regency Hospital in Carrollton, TX. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 11:00am at Morse Street Baptist Church in Denton, TX. Mrs. Seastrunk is survived by one sibling, B.T Kayhee, five children, Diane Seastrunk, John Seastrunk, Micheal Seastrunk, Regina Seastrunk and Reginald Seastrunk, thirteen grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

 

Henrietta Paris

Henrietta “Etta” Paris, 88, of Krum passed away Friday, May 09, 2008 at Denton Regional Medical Center. She was born April 26, 1920 in Iowa. She married Oscar Vernon “Jake” Paris. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Krum First Baptist Church. She had been a member of VFW Post #2205 in Denton for years.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 3 – 5 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Graveside service will be Monday, May 12, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Bolivar Cemetery, west of Sanger with Rev. Buddy Owens officiating.

She is survived by nieces Barbara Canady and Twylla Harper, both of Krum and many friends. He is preceded by her husband, Jake Paris and son, Jackie Paris.
