Leilah Mae Hahn
Leilah Mae Hahn, 53, of Little Elm, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2009. Arrangements are pending with Slay Memorial Funeral Center, Aubrey, TX.
Walter William “Buck” Schertz
Walter William “Buck” Schertz, 97, of Sanger, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2009 at his residence. Born on July 19, 1911 in Neosho, Missouri, he was the son of the late John W. and Mary Louisa (Krueger) Schertz.
For many years, he was co-owner of Schertz Bros. Implement Co. in Sanger, Texas. He then worked for Wayne Harper Oil Company as a gas well pumper. After retiring, he became an on-call mechanic for the area farmers where he would travel to their farms to repair their implement equipment.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2009 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Coker Funeral Home, 403 Pecan Street, Sanger, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 5, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, 713 South Fifth Street, Sanger, Texas with Dr. E. L. McNeal officiating. Interment will be in the Sanger Cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter, Katrena Poe of Springtown; two grandchildren, Katrena Drake and husband, Chris of Wiley, Texas and Craig Schertz and wife, Echo and their daughters of Washington state; sisters, Dee Brown, Evon Harvey, Frances Gentle, and Hazel Bishop, all of Sanger, Wanda Hollingsworth and husband, Gerald of Keller; brother, Benny Schertz of Keller; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Inez Schertz and son, Ronny Buck Schertz.
The family has requested that memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
