Charles Jarrod Cheek

Charles Jarrod Cheek, 30, a resident of Denton, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, July 13, 2008, at his home in Denton, Texas. Jarrod was born February 10, 1978 in Paducah, KY. He was the son of Billy Cheek and Vicki (Cavitt) Cheek.

Jarrod is survived by his mother and stepfather, Vicki & Wayne Gordon of Lampasas, TX; his father and stepmother, Billy & Barbara Cheek of Cobden, IL; a son, Lane Charles Cheek of Rodgers, TX; his fiance, Tina Kliebert of Denton, TX; a sister, Shekinah Cheek of Anna, IL; maternal grandparents, John and Geraldine Cavitt of Vienna, IL; a niece, Alyssa Jo Casey; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives; and many dear friends.

Jarrod was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Pauline Cheek.

Jarrod was a 1998 graduate of the Killeen, TX High School. He had been employed as a driver with Owens & Minor Medical Distribution in Coppel, TX for the past 1 1/2 years. Jarrod had been a member of the ROTC and American Hunters Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting & fishing. Jarrod was of the Non-Denominational Protestant faith.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon, July 18, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Pete Vinson will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, north of Vienna. Friends may call after 6 pm Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.

Memorials may be made to the Lane Charles Cheek Educational Fund, c/o Old National Bank, 509 S. University Ave., Carbondale, IL 62901.

Paul Wayne Marshall

Paul Wayne Marshall, 79, of Lewisville, TX and formerly of Terre Haute, IN, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in Lewisville. He was born August 14, 1928 to James Leroy Marshall and Ora Madge Morey Marshall. Paul was a United States Navy Veteran and was retired from Public Service of Indiana.

Funeral services will be held in Indiana on Saturday, July 19, 2008. There will be a local memorial service on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Paul is survived by his wife, Ann Whitledge Marshall; son, Brian Marshall and wife, Sandy; daughter, Janice Vogt; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A brother, Jack Marshall, precedes him in death.
