Mattie Faye Opitz
PILOT POINT — Mattie Faye Opitz, 77, of Pilot Point, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2009. She was born on December 21, 1931 in Alba to Mack and Sarah Velma (Harris) McGee. She married James F. Opitz on July 18, 1966. She was a grocery cashier.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 3 p.m., at Pilot Point Community Cemetery, Rev. Luther Slay will officiate.
She is survived by her husband, James of Pilot Point; five sons, Claude Barton of Sherman, James Barton of Tucson, AZ, John Barton of Bartonville, James Opitz of Poolville, and Michael Opitz of Amarillo; and three daughters, Faye Goetz of Ponder, Charlotte Hamm of Denton, and Susan Opitz of Pilot Point. She is also survived by one brother, Johnny Harris of Melissa; and one sister, May Dell Lillard of Cross Roads; as well as eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

William A. “Bud” Coffey
William A. “Bud” Coffey, 60, of Arlington, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009 at his residence. He was born February 25, 1948 in Aubrey to William Riley Coffey and Margie Laverne Owens Coffey. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Nuclear Medicine Technician and later became a Cardiac Care Nurse. He married Kathryn Dougherty on July 23, 2005. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Krugerville.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 7 – 8 p.m., at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church of Krugerville on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Sam Redfearn officiating. Burial will follow at Belew Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Kate Coffey of Arlington; daughters, Ileen Aiken of Easley, SC, Robyn Bailey of Easley, SC, and Rachael Walker of Anderson SC; sons, Brett W.A. Coffey of Butte, MT, Bradley W.A. Coffey of Fort Hood, TX, and Bryan W.A. Coffey of Fort Bragg, NC; sisters, Jean Kinney of Aubrey, and Linda Crowsey of Whitesboro; brother, Jim Coffey of Decatur; and seven grandchildren.
Beverly Jane Deines
Beverly Jane Deines, 70, of Denton, passed away Monday, February 2, 2009 at her residence. She was born October 21, 1938 in Longview to Thomas Graham Brown and Mary Jane Brooks Brown. She married John Thomas Deines on January 29, 1965 in Beaumont. She graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor College and University of Kansas and Miami University in Ohio. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Altar Guild, ICC Cancer Outreach Group, American Association of University Women, Ham radio operator, TWU Needlecraft Group, and Governing Board of Mary Hardin Baylor Alumni. She was a Latin teacher at Denton High School and Latin Club Sponsor.
Vigil Service will be Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 7 p.m., at DeBerry Funeral Directors with visitation to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be February 5, 2009 at 2 p.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband, John Thomas Deines of Denton; daughter, Sara Jane Deines of Denton; son, George Thomas Deines and wife, Kasey, and grandson, Reese of Sachse.
