Nita M. Adams
Nita M. Adams, 84 of Thackerville, OK passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010, in Marietta, OK. Arrangements are pending with Huff/Slay Funeral Home, Pilot Point, Texas.
Billie Louise Leddy Foster
Billie Louise Leddy Foster, 79, of Krum, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010 at her residence. She was born on May 17, 1930 in Midland to Frank Harris Leddy and Wilma Billie Turner. She married Billie Adam Foster on March 21, 1958 in Weatherford, co-owned Foster Saddle Shop with her husband, and was a member of the Krum United Methodist Church.
Billie is survived by her husband, Billie Adam Foster; daughters, Sandra North and husband John of Slidell, Christie Enoch and husband Terry of Slidell, Lisa Foster of Little Elm, and Tina Bergbauer and husband Craig of Clare, IL; sons, Mark Foster and wife Madeline of Denton, and Brad Foster of Krum; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and other close family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Billie Leddy; son, Buddie Foster; daughter-in-law, Jeannine Foster; sister, Peggy Griffith; father-in-law Elliott Foster; and mother-in-law, Edith Foster.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 22 at 3:30 p.m. at the Krum United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Christy Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Jackson cemetery in Krum.
William (Bill) D. Lukie, Jr.
William (Bill) D. Lukie, Jr., 40, of Lake Dallas, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Denton Regional Hospital. He was born April 27, 1969 in Madison, Indiana. He was a courier at DSI and married Rhonda Garvin on October 21, 1999 in Lewisville.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 21 from 3-5 at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 22 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Lake Dallas. Burial will follow at Gunter Cemetery in Gunter, TX. Pallbearers will include Byron Umphress, Mike Umphress, Mike Rutherford, Johnny Brogan, Jody Brogan, and Denton Simpson.
Bill is survived by his wife, Rhonda Lukie; daughters, Nicole Ann Lukie and Kayla Marie Lukie all of Lake Dallas; parents, Glenda and Jim Brown of Trenton Ohio, and Bill and Brenda Lukie of Fort Mill, S.C.; sisters, Michelle Lukie, and Rachel Helms; and brothers, Stacy Brown, Adam Lukie, and Aaron Miller.
Roger Tate Pace
Roger Tate Pace, 65, of Denton, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at his residence. He was born on March 12, 1944 to Ralph Pace and Cleo Lillian Cox Pace in Dallas. He retired as a Denton County Jailer.
A memorial service will be Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11 am in the DeBerry Funeral Directors Chapel.
Roger is survived by his daughters, Sara Pace, and Amy Pace both of Dallas; son, Michael Ardist Pace of Fort Worth; sisters, Johnnie Thompson of Garland, Marilyn Eagon of Nashville, TN, and Patricia Brinkley of Fort Worth; brothers, Wayne Pace of Aubrey, and Rick Pace of Gulfport, MS; and 2 grandchildren.
Albert Martin Vranesa
Albert Martin Vranesa, 84, a long time resident of Denton, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 following a prolonged illness. Albert was born on September 8, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA to Joseph and Rose (Bursics) Vranesa. Albert graduated from Shaler Township High School in 1943. Immediately after graduation, he went to work in the steel mills of National Supply in Etna, PA. In December 1943, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and was stationed at Cherry Point, NC where he worked as a control tower operator. In July 1946, he was honorably discharged, having achieved the rank of Corporal. Albert resumed working for National Supply while attending college on the GI Bill. He graduated in 1952 from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh with a bachelors degree in Business Management. Following his graduation, Albert transferred into the business office of National Supply, leaving the steel mill behind. On March 20, 1954, Albert married Joan Clara Pollock of Coraopolis, PA.
In 1962, Albert was transferred to the National Supply plant in Gainesville. He worked as a purchasing agent until his retirement in 1982. Albert spent his retirement traveling with Joan to some of his favorite destinations. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denton.
Albert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan, daughters; Cynthia Vranesa of Denton and Deborah and son-in-law Skip Dennis of Saint Jo, granddaughters; Kate Dennis and Emma Dennis of Saint Jo, sister Frieda Bokor of Cranberry, PA, sister Josephine Vranesa of Evans City, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rose Vranesa; brothers Michael, Martin and infant Joseph Vranesa; sisters Ann Vranesa Profovich and infant Josephine Vranesa.
Visitation will be Friday, February 19, 2010, from 5-7 pm at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Services will be at 1 pm, Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Mulkey-Mason chapel, with Rev. Msgr. Charles King, officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4 pm at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville. Memorials may be made to the Denton Humane Society, P.O. Box 1972 Denton, TX. On line condolences at www.mulkeymason.com.
