Carolyn Marie Flowers, 60, of Southmayd, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2010 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.

She was born on October 14, 1949 in Denison to Boyd and Gladys (Mayo) Sexton. She graduated from Denison High School in 1967. Carolyn married the love of her life, Roy Flowers, on June 2, 1967 in Denison. She was a loving wife, mother and “Mema”. Carolyn was a Blue Bird and Campfire Girl leader. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, attending many of their activities. Carolyn retired from Texas Instruments/Raytheon after 38 years of service. She and Roy loved to travel, going to the lake and playing slot machines.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Flowers of Southmayd, a son, Brian Flowers and wife, Amy of Allen, a daughter, Alicia Flowers of Sherman, her mother, Gladys Sexton of Whitesboro, her maternal grandmother, Velma Mayo of Whitesboro, a sister, Donna Dolezalek and husband, Sammy of Sadler, 3 grandchildren, Jake, Lucas and Caroline Flowers of Allen, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Roy Duff officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Billy Hamilton, Lonnie House, Bobby Neely, Marty Hall, Gene Hollar and Mike Dobbs.
