Terry Ray Linville
Terry Ray Linville, 66, of Sanger passed away on Monday, March 08, 2010 at his residence in Sanger.
He was born on March 19, 1943 in Muncie, Indiana to Robert Byron and Alberta Jane (Kennedy) Linville.Upon graduation from Newcastle High School in Newcastle, Indiana, he served his country in the United States Navy.On December 27, 1975, he married Patricia “Trish” E. Hudson in Kokomo, Indiana.He owned and operated T & T Trucking for 42 years until his retirement.
A memorial will be held from 6 – 8 pm, Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Wagon Master Gathering Hall, 3926 FM 455 West, Sanger, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Trish Linville of Sanger; daughter, Brenda Linville of Indiana; three sons, Michael Linville of Indiana, David Linville and wife, Elizabeth of Chandler, AZ, and Brett Linville of South Carolina; sister, Sharon Parvin and husband, Tim of Rushville, Indiana; sister-in-law, Betty Linville of Moreland, Indiana; three grandsons; seven sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Linville.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
R.D. Nolen
R.D. Nolen, 83, passed away at Texoma Healthcare Center in Sherman, Texas on Thursday, March 4, 2010.
A memorial services will be held at 2 pm Saturday; March 13, 2010 at the Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel, 511 W. Hwy 120, Pottsboro, TX 75076 withBill Bell officiating.
R.D. was born on May 12, 1926 in Texarkana, Texas the son of Marcus Lloyd and Claudia Pearl Parker Nolen.He graduated from Denton High School in 1944 and then attended North Texas State University.He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines.
He married Joyce Elaine Green in 1951 and she preceded him in death on November 13, 1981.He was an artistic craftsman and master knifemaker, as well as an avid reader of Louis L’Amour.He was a worldwide hunter and fisherman, traveling to many exotic places around the world.Heand his brother, L.P., were founders of the Commemorative Air Force.He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Knifemakers’ Guild.
The family suggests memorials to Lloyd P. Nolen Research Center-payable to AAHM Endowment in memory of R.D. Nolen, C/O Commemorative Air Force, P.O. Box 62000, Midland, Texas 79711-2000.
Surviving are his sons, Roger Nolen and his wife, Zeferina of Pottsboro and Steve Nolen and his wife, Shelly of Longmont, Colorado; brother, George Nolen of Pottsboro; sister, Mary Ann Bernardin and her husband, David of Pottsboro; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers, L.P. Nolen and Jimmy Nolen.

Bobby Shelton Marshall
Bobby Shelton Marshall passed away February 28, 2010 in Fort Worth.He was born February 19, 1960 to Minnie Josephine Marshall and Cecil Williamson in Dallas, TX.
He lived in Sacramento CA until 1994 when he moved back to Denton to be closer to his family. He was a 35 year mechanic and Auto dismantler.He married his life long sweetheart, Donna F.L. Shrader May, 23, 1998 they were together for 35 years.Bobby and Donna had three daughters.
Bobby is survived by his wife Donna Marshall of Denton, daughter Windy Marshall of Billings, MT, Rebel Marshall, Patricia Sparks and husband Chris Sparks all of Denton, three grandchildren, Rogan Marshall, Jacob Sparks and Alyssa Sparks. Sisters, Judy Mcintosh, Joann House both of Arizona, Wanita Hannha and Edwina Nickels both of Denton. Nephew Tim Braum which was more like a brother.As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grand-nieces and nephews around Texas.
He follows his mother, Minnie J. Marshall, brother R.L. Mcintosh and grandson Evan Sparks.
A memorial service will be held March 16, 2010 at 11 am at the LDS Church at 1801 Malone St. Denton, TX.
Roy Lawrence Walthall
Roy Lawrence Walthall, 89, formerly of Clayton, WV, passed away March 8, 2010 at the home of his daughter, Sandra McClendon of Corinth, TX.He was born September 17, 1920 to Alexander Hamilton (Sam) Walthall and Eva Ann Harvey Walthall at home in Clayton, WV.On September 20, 1945, he married Melva Delphia Fink in Hinton, WV.During WWII, drafted but unable to serve, he worked at the Navy Department Munitions plant in VA.He retired from C & P Telephone Company of West Virginia in 1975 after 24 years of service and last serviced as Local Manager in Man, WV.
He is survived by the love of his life of 64 years, wife Melva; daughter, Sandra McClendon and husband Dee of Corinth, TX; sons, Michael Walthall and wife Wanda of Vicksburg, MS, and Richard Walthall and friend Bren Ettelson of Roanoke, VA; six grandchildren, Todd and wife Emily McClendon. Scott and wife Kathleen McClendon, all of Corinth, TX, Justin and Wesley Walthall of Vicksburg, MS, and William and Natalie Walthall of Blacksburg, VA; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson McClendon and Kamryn McClendon, both of Corinth, TX.He loved God, his family, and his beagle, Spot, now 18.
Viewing will be Friday, March 12, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Longanacre Funeral Home in Fort Springs, WV.Funeral service will be Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Longanacre Funeral Home conducted by Wallace York, former pastor of man Baptist Church.Burial will follow at Clayton Baptist Church Cemetery in Clayton, WV.Grandsons will be pallbearers.In Lieu of flowers, make memorial donations to Country Life Cemetery Care, C/O Melvin Ryan, HC 73 Box 24A, Alderson, WV 24910.
Reverend Donald Carter Dodge
Reverend Donald Carter Dodge, age 75, passed away at home in comfort and dignity on March 7th, 2010, after a courageous battle with leukemia. He left peacefully surrounded by his family.He is survived by loving wife Jean Swofford, daughter Kim (Pat) Johnston, son Todd (Elizabeth) Dodge, and daughter Donna (Michael) Oliver.Also his grandchildren: Sarah and Anna Johnston, Riley and Molly Dodge, Jackson and Flora Oliver.
Don was born in Houston on April 30, 1934, the oldest child of Cleveland and Jessie Dodge. He is survived by his sister Robby (Bill) Sissom, and his brothers, Cotton (Georgie), Ralph (Sue), and David (Ida), and numerous nieces and nephews.
At age twelve he turned his life over to the Lord. He graduated from South Park High School in Beaumont and continued his education at East Texas Baptist College. At New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary he earned a Bachelor of Theology, and at Stephen F. Austin State College he completed his Bachelor of Arts.
Rev. Dodge served at several United Methodist Churches and cities across Texas including Burke, Chireno circuit, Garrison, Spring Branch, West Orange, Port Arthur, Judson, Grand Saline, Rockdale, Elkhart, DeKalb, and finally in Marshall where he retired with his wife Jean in 1996.
Don has been an active member in Lions Clubs International throughout his lifetime, as well as Masonic Lodge. In recent years he enjoyed fellowship with Asbury Sunday School Class and the Winsome Sunday School Class, as well as the Lucky Charm Lunch Bunch.
Don took special pleasure in hunting trips with his brothers, summer gardening, study of all things gun-related, and was a history buff.He will be remembered lovingly for his devotion to family, his faithfulness in serving those in need, as well as his warm spirit and contagious smile.
Funeral Services for Rev. Dodge were held Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Marshall with Rev. Joel McMahon officiating.
