Pearl L. Mims
Pearl L. Mims passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008 at Denton Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 7 – 8 p.m. at People’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Mt. Pilgrim C.M.E. Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
She is survived by two children, Fannie Johnson and Frank Mims, Jr. both of Denton; and one sister, Frankie Wilson of Denton. One son, B.C. Mims, preceded her in death.
Sammie McCoy Moses
Sammie McCoy Moses, 86, of Denton, passed away Monday, March 24, 2008 at Care Inn in Sanger. She was born January 11, 1922 in Haworth, OK to James Samuel and Annie Nellie (Waite) McCoy. She was married to the Late Andy Moses, on February 2. 1946, in Gainesville, he died July 29, 1987. She served in the U. S. Army in 1943. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Pilot Point, and was retired from the Moore’s Business Forms printing line.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2008 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, with Rev. Jimmy Dane officiating. Burial will follow in the Belew Cemetery in Aubrey, TX. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 6 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2008.
Mrs. Moses is survived by a daughter, Tonya Belcher of Grapevine; sons, Mike and wife, Barbara Moses of Denton, Lee and wife, Tina Moses of New Braunfels and Paul Moses of New Braunfels, TX; grandchildren, Steve Belcher of Aubrey, Brandie and Kevin Shepard of Kingston, OK, Heath and Stephanie Belcher of Round Rock, Michelle and Jim Strand of Fort Drum, NY, Justin Moses of Lafayette, LA, Joseph Moses of New Braunfels, Christin Moses of Denton and Michael Moses of New Braunfels; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Beau Shepard, Mia Belcher, Savannah and Lola Belcher, and Ethan Strand; a sister, Jean Jones of Idabel, OK; and brothers, Jessie McCoy of Broken Arrow, OK and W. C. (Bill) McCoy of El Dorado, AR. Her parents; a sister, Rossie Knapp; and brother, Wylie McCoy, preceded her in death.

John F. Wright
John F. Wright, 84, passed away March 24, 2008 at Denton Good Samaritan Village.
He was born December 9, 1923 at Spring Creek, MO to Kenneth and Martha Wright. He spent his early years in Ohio and Michigan, graduating from Howe Military Academy. He began college at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. He entered the US Army in WW II, and served in the European Theatre, receiving two Purple Hearts and being awarded the Silver Star. After the war, he graduated from Trinity College.
He became a Texan after marrying Dale Weems in 1947. He owned and operated a furniture store in Denton for many years and then worked in Sales for Greenwood/Mount Olivet and Shannon Funeral Homes in Fort Worth. He was a former Senior and Junior Warden, Acolyte Trainer, Usher, and Church School Teacher at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.
His wife, Dale, preceded him in death.
Sons and daughters-in-law, John and Becky Wright and Kenneth and Susan Wright, all of Denton; along with grandchildren, John, Marcella, Trey, Tucker, and Warren; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth, survive him.
The family is very grateful for the compassionate care he received at Good Samaritan Village and for the wonderful staff of American Hospice.
He will be interred at the family cemetery at Spring Creek, MO.
