Jerry Jeff Alexander

Jerry Jeff Alexander, 59, formerly of Pilot Point died June 20, 2009 at Mercy Health in Marietta, Okla.

Jerry was born May 30, 1950 in Pilot Point to Harmon Estill and Thelma (Kennedy) Alexander. He was married to Deborah Diane Loader on Dec. 12, 1969 in Denton.

Jerry served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post #550 in Pilot Point, a member of the VVA Post #920 in Denton and he was a past vice president of FMGA.

Jerry previously worked as an inspector and facility manager of Point Bank in Pilot Point. He loved to golf and work with wood.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Debbie Alexander of Burneyville, Okla.; son and daughter-in-law, Deke and Samantha Alexander of Aubrey, Texas; his two brothers, Buster Alexander and Ron Alexander, of Burneyville, Okla. and his mother, Frances Alexander of Mt. Springs.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Bobbie Jack Hughes.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23 at Clement-Keel Funeral Home in Gainesville, Texas.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Clement-Keel Chapel with Reverend Jack Ring officiating. A burial service will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

 

 

Dr. Russell Dill

Dr. Russell Dill

Dr. Russell Dill, 76, of Denton, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009 at his home, Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village after a long illness. He was born July 27, 1932 in Rising Star to Russell and Mabel (Rhone) Dill. He was married to Anna Katherine Oliver on June 3, 1954 in Denton. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees from North Texas State University, his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, and post doctoral degree from University of Texas Medical School in Galveston. He taught four years at the University of Texas in Galveston and 35 years at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas where he was professor emeritus.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, with Ross Thomson officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. for visitation. Memorials may be made to Interfaith Ministries of Denton.

Dr. Dill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anna Oliver Dill of Denton; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Curtis and Frances Dill of Mesquite, Philip and Chrissy Dill of Denton; daughter and son-in-law Katherine and Thomas Richeson of Holliday; grandchildren, Megan, Sarah, Hannah, Ann and Roy; sisters Barbara Giles, Eunice Hiliard and Marsha Ruyle, all of Denton; and many nieces and nephews.

Daniel Ryan Reed

Daniel Ryan Reed, 26, of Krum passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 in Carrollton as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born March 10, 1983 in Irving to James T. Reed and Jo Evelyn Hood Wicks. He graduated from Krum High School and was the owner of Precision Automotive.

Visitation will be Monday, June 22, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Jo Wicks of Krum, father, James T. Reed of Krum; brother, Nathan Reed of Krum; grandparents, Evelyn Hood of Denton, James and Theopal Reed of Krum. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Joe Hood.

 

 

Ronald Gene Stamp

Ronald Gene Stamp was born to William A. Stamp and Leota P. Bolton on June 22, 1932, in Ottawa, Kan. and passed away in Denton, Texas on June 20, 2009, at the age of 76. Ron was baptized and confirmed on Feb. 21, 1960 and received his first communion at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Neb. Ron was united in marriage to Elaine R. Pohlmann on April 30, 1955, and moved to Dallas in 1964.

Ron and Elaine Stamp are active members of Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound.

Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who in his earlier years served in the United States Navy. Throughout his life he was a highly recognized softball pitcher (fast-pitch), loved riding his Harley, restoring his vintage Mustang and spending time with his family. Ron retired in 1995 from the Carrollton/Farmers Branch Independent School District.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jack. Ron is survived by his wife and best friend Elaine; two daughters and sons-in-law Kim and Larry Harris, Kelly and Donald Leach; two sons and daughters-in-law Scott and Kelly Stamp, Steve and Kristie Stamp; his sisters Joan Gans and Vicki Avery; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 23, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 1401 Cross Timbers, Flower Mound. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound with Pastor Wayne Braun officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
