James “JIMMY” Melvin Dane

James “JIMMY” Melvin Dane, 63, of Denton, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born January 15, 1946, in Denton County, TX, to Troy Melvin and Helen Jean (Lawson) Dane. He was married to Barbie Backues on Oct. 23, 1992, in Denton. He was a member and Minister of Music for the First Baptist Church of Krugerville. He attended Pilot Point Public Schools and Cooke County College, and served in the U.S. Air Force.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, 5021 Hwy 377, Krugerville, TX 76227, with Rev. Sam Redfearn officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilot Point Community Cemetery. The family will be at the Church for visitation on Friday, June 26, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Krugerville Building Fund. Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dane is survived by his wife, Barbie Dane of Denton; daughters, April Dane McNabb of Aubrey and Dee Ann Hoelker of Florida; son, Robert Wayne Dane of Lindale; mother, Helen Jean Dane of Pilot Point; sister, Shirley Cain, of Pilot Point; brother, Ray Dane of Burleson; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Andrew Neil Mattison, 28, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in Richland Hills, Texas.

Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Decatur with Monte Tuttle officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Loucks, Chris Reed, Erica Eison, Jeremy Davis, Ryan Brown, Trey McKinnon, Eric Caraway, John Coker, Candace Carter, Mike Eggleton, Dustin Roddy, Ryan Sessions, Lance Prescott, Chase Chapman, Amy Gardner and Jessica Sicking.

Andy was born November 13, 1980, in Decatur to Gary Louis and Teresa Ann (Christian) Mattison. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1999 and worked as a recruiter for Raider Express Transportation Company in Fort Worth.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his two sons, Caden Robison and Dane Andrew Neil Mattison, both of Denton; mother, Teresa Mattison of Decatur; fiance, Ashley Brooke Spencer of Roanoke, Texas; brother, Christian Alan Mattison and wife Laci of Decatur; sister, Cory Lee Johnson and husband Ian of Denton; nephews, Reagan Alan, Jace Christian and Christian Matthew Mattison; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Andy is preceded in his death by his father, Gary Louis Mattison.

Family requests memorials be made to the Andy Mattison Fund at Denton Area Teacher’s Credit Union, 6600 Ford St., Decatur, TX 76234.
