Theresa Gail Rogers Sanders
Theresa Gail Rogers Sanders, 50, of Little Elm, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009 in Plano.
Funeral service will be held at 10 am Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes in Fort Worth. Burial will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 pm. Wednesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
Theresa was born in Fort Worth on August 7, 1958. She was preceded in death by her father, William Rogers and grandfather, John Shue, Jr.
Survivors include her children, Amanda Marie Sanders, Billy Don Sanders II, Wesley Eugene Sanders and Kenneth Matthew Heil; grandchildren, Cameron and Audrey Sanders; mother, Mary Rogers; grandmother, Myrtle M. Shue; sister, Carla Harra brother, James Rogers; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family. Arrangements are being handled by Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76134, 817-293-1350.
Patsy B. Childers
Patsy B. Childers was born Jan. 20, 1943 in Denton, Texas and was called home by her Lord and Savior on June 27, 2009. She spent her life taking care of others including her family. She graduated from Denton High School in 1961. She retired from the Denton State School after more than 35 years and became a sitter for At Your Service Inc. of Denton until her battle with cancer began.
She married James L. Childers Dec. 5, 1963 in Denton. Together they raised two boys, Jeffery and Jerry Childers, both of Denton. She is survived by James, Jeff and Jerry, and her mother Marie Bradshaw of Denton, brother, Tim Bradshaw of Denton, sister, Linda Brannon and husband Steve of Pilot Point, other extended family and many life-long friends.
She was preceded in death by her father James Bradshaw and sister, Donis Bradshaw.
Visitation was Monday, June 29, 2009 from 6-8 pm at DeBerry Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 10 am at the DeBerry Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. Officiating will be Dan Cooke and Ross Thomson from Singing Oaks Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be Jered Hodgkins, Charlie Phillips, Robert Boler, Steven Carrizal, Zach Honea and Brandon Keller. Honorary pallbearers are Derrick Gage and Robert “Bobby” George.
Wayne Moss
Wayne Moss, 86, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009, in Arlington.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 30 at Era Church of Christ, Cooke County, Mr. Ben Willingham officiating. Interment will follow the service at Slidell Cemetery in Wise County.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 29 at Wade Family Funeral Home.
Wayne was born Oct. 15, 1922, in Leo, Cooke County, to Bird and Bertha Burke Moss. He was raised in Slidell and graduated from Slidell High School. Wayne was a longtime resident of the old Northside in Fort Worth. He worked at General Dynamics for 38 years and Bell Helicopter for four years before he retired. Wayne moved to Rocky Ridge Ranch where he raised cattle and operated a weekend recreation ranch for motorcyclists and four-wheelers.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Margaret Elizabeth Rodden Moss, on June 7, 2009; sister, Carrie Lou Campbell; and brother, J.R. Moss.
Survivors include his son, Jimmy Moss and wife, Gina, of Arlington; sister-in-law, Faye Rodden; granddaughters, Julie Moss, Jana Moss Palacios and Addison Moss; grandson, Reagin Moss; and great-grandson, Sebastian Pollard.

Maladie Ann Kubicek
Maladie Ann Kubicek, 84, of Krum, passed away Sunday June 28, 2009 at Cottonwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Mrs. Kubicek was born on October 30, 1924 in Tioga to Frank and Annie (Huschke) Bartel. She was married to Frank Henry Kubicek. She retired from the Denton State School and continued serving as a foster grandparent.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 am Thursday July 2, 2009 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Pilot Point. Interment will follow at the St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 – 7 pm, with a rosary at 7 pm on Wednesday July 1.
Survivors include her son, George Kubicek of Krum; sister, Lillie Tischler of Pilot Point; brother, Henry Bartel of Pilot Point, Walter Bartel of Muenster; grandchildren, Jerry Morrison, Sam Morrison, Jennifer Morrison, Walter, Morrison, Tina Kubicek; eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kubicek, Sr.; daughter, Maladie Morrison; son, Frank Kubicek, Jr.
Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Carl “Big Daddy” Stephens
Mr. Carl “Big Daddy” Stephens, 91, of Dallas, Texas died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Medical City Hospital. He was born January 15, 1918 in Longview, Texas to Leo Norvella Lawson and Houston Stephens. His earliest life was lived in White Oak, Texas where he was a member of the Center Baptist Church and worked for Longview Cresol Plant Company. He served in the Army during World War II.
He married Myrtle Bennie B Jackson in August 1947. She preceded him in death. To this union five children were born: Carl Edward, Dallas, Texas (wife Kathy – children: Lanette, Lanetta, Orlando, Norvia, Wayne, Princess, Rosalind, Yolanda); Carol Ann Stephens Humphrey, deceased, (children – Royce, Andre, Tyrone, Marcus, Carla, Kim, Nikki); Dennis Earl, Denton, Texas (wife, Gloria – children: Denise, Janae); Joe Louis, Houston, Texas (wife, Patricia – children: Tamara, Lil Joe, Jeremy), and Lawrence Douglas, deceased.
In 1964 he and his wife made a career move to Dallas where he was employed with and retired from Centex Homes (formerly Fox & Jacobs Construction Company). Upon retirement he continued to work and support his beloved “Myrtle” in various business restaurants in Dallas. They fellowshipped with the Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church congregation under the pastoral ship of Rev. David E. Wilson.
He is survived by four siblings: Fred Stephens and Mary Sanders of Longview, Texas; Joel Stephens (wife: Arzella) of White Oak, Texas and Lucille Thomas of Dallas, Texas. Four siblings preceded him in death: sister, Aquella Stephens; twin sister, Elizabeth Anderson; sister, Marie Fullylove and brother, Houston Stephens. He cherished his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, George Donald Jackson (Earlene) and Phyllis Jackson Campbell (Doyle) of Dallas, Texas and Betty Jackson of Longview, Texas.
Known to all as “Big Daddy”, he maintained a mighty presence wherever he was. He loved life as much as he loved to “spoil” his grandchildren. He was blessed to be a part of the lives of a special little boy and girl, Derek and Erin Prucha of Dallas, Texas. Whenever their names were mentioned, he smiled within his heart.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church, 8350 Forest Lane, Dallas, Texas 75243. Arrangements are under the direction of Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, 6449 S. Houston School Road, Dallas, Texas 75241.
