Dorothy McCracken
Dorothy McCracken, 89 of Denton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Countryside Nursing Home in Pilot Point. She was born on October 5, 1918 in Bentley Creek, PA to Charles and Jewel (Fergerson) Kimble. Her husband, William E. McCracken, Sr, precedes her in death. She retired from Westinghouse Corp. in Horseheads, NY in March 1979.
She is survived by her five children - four daughters and one son; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
Clayton Lacey, Jr.,
Clayton Lacey, Jr., 54, of Denton, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Denton Regional Hospital. Clayton was born March 10, 1954 in El Paso, TX to Vicki and Clayton Lacey, Sr. Clayton was married to Maria Silva, April 12, 1973 in Marietta, OK. He was a retired Machinist and worked for Denton State School.
Graveside services will be held Monday July 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park, with Geronimo Dewayne Silva and Randy Snow speaking. The family will be at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton for visitation on Sunday, July 13, 2008, from 4 - 8 p.m.
Clayton is survived by his wife of 35 years, Maria Lacey of Denton; his father, Clayton Lacey, Sr. of Lake Dallas; his children, Jennifer Lacey, Melissa West, Kylee Sanders, Manual Trevino, Tony Trevino and Richard Essary; his siblings, Debbie Boyd, Teresa Lacey, WY (Dub) Lacey and Gerald Lacey; twenty grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vicki Lacey; and other family members.

Geneva Lee Helton
Geneva Lee Helton, 95, passed away in Justin on Thursday, July 10, 2008. She was born on June 13, 1913 in Justin, Texas, to J.K. and Rowena Lee. She married James W. Helton on October 7, 1933. She worked during WWII for the Navy as a Time and Attendance Clerk in Hunters Point, CA. After the War, Geneva was a homemaker until she and her husband started Helton Construction Company.
Services will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Justin United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Justin Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 12, 2008 from 5 – 7 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 W. University Dr. in Denton, Texas 76201.
Mrs. Helton is survived by her daughter, Leonore Hicks and her husband, Skip of Krum; her grandson, Mark Winstead and wife, Leah, and sons, Toby and Trevor of Weatherford; and her granddaughter, Kristie Piper, and children, Collyn and Rilee of Ponder. She is also survived by her sisters, Grace Parr of Plainview, Texas and Myrtle Wooten of Justin; and her brother, Elmon Lee of Ponder; niece, Gay Thrift of Plainview; and Jim Lee and wife, Nancy of Ft. Worth.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Helton; father, J.K. Lee; mother, Rowena Lee; and two brothers, C.W. Lee and Howard Lee.
Guy William Griffith
Guy William Griffith, 59, of Valley View, passed away on July 5, 2008. He was born October 12, 1948 in Nashua,
New Hampshire. He graduated from Denton High School in 1966. He is survived by his dear friend, Julie Gallo, of
Valley View and his daughter, Tricia Setters, of Frisco. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and will be laid to rest with them at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. A graveside memorial will be held on Wednesday, July 16 at 9am.
Gary L. Risner
Gary L. Risner, 50, of Denton, TX passed away Saturday, June 28, 2008. He was born December 15, 1957 in Jackson, Michigan to Dexter and Lois (Stanley) Risner. He was Co-Owner of the Professional A-1 Sprinkler Co. of Denton.
A private Memorial Service will be held in Michigan.
Mr. Risner is survived by his father, Dexter Risner of Denton, sisters, Terry Milkey of Salene, MI and Rhonda Honaker of California, brothers, Dexter Carl Risner of Denton, Russell Risner of Jackson MI and Craig Risner of Lancing, MI. He was preceded in death by his mother, and two brothers, Ricky Stanley, and Kenny Risner.

Jimmy R. Willingham, Sr.
Jimmy R. Willingham, Sr., 70, of Denton, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born January 11, 1938 in Denton to Raymond and Olive (Erwin) Willingham. He attended Denton Public Schools and was a member of the Central Baptist Church. He was the Owner and operator of Jim’s Paint and Body Shop. He was married to Jo A. Smith in Gainesville, TX on April 5, 1958.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Central Baptist Church, 2221 N. Carroll Blvd. Denton, with Rev. Paul Shelton, officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St. Denton from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2008.
Mr. Willingham is survived by his wife, Jo A. Willingham; daughters, Kay West and Judy Sutherland; sisters, Billie Watson and Jane Parker, of Denton; and a brother, David Willingham of Carrollton; five grandchildren, Josh Lynskey, Sammie Jo West, Amber Griffiths, Levi Griffiths and Karen Willingham; and six great-grandchildren. Terry Weldon Johnson
Terry Weldon Johnson, 53, of Greenwood, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born July 3, 1955 in Wise County to Howard Melvin and Omie Isabell Riley Johnson. He graduated from Krum High School and was employed by Alaska Interstate Construction in Anchorage AK.
Visitation will be Friday, July 11, 2008 from 6 - 8 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Bolivar Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Krum. Pallbearers will be Phil Ryan, Barney Calvert, Jr., Kevin Maxwell, Clyde Cole, Gaylen Wilson, Ricky Wilson, David Wilson, Randy Wilson and Barney Calvert, Sr. will serve as honorary pallbearer.
He is survived by his sisters, Joyce and husband, George Sauter of Krum, Wilma “Pete” and husband, Ray Lang of Krum, Marjorie “Mert” Woodward of Skellytown, and Linda and husband, Flavil George of Durant OK; brothers, Donald and wife, Barbara Johnson and Raymond and wife, Bonnie Johnson, both of Krum; sister-in-law, Joan Johnson of Krum; special friends, Sidney Calvert and Barney Calvert. Proceeded in death by parents, Tommy Johnson, Bonita Zinsmeyer and Kevin Johnson.

Jennifer Christine Roth
Jennifer Christine Roth left this world for Heaven on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 as result of a tragic automobile accident, from which her 4 month old son, Keaton, graciously survived. She was a loving soul who will be missed by all.
She is survived by her son, Keaton; her loving mother, Mylinda Roth and father, James Roth; her sister, Kerri Roth; her brothers, Thomas Martin and Timothy Roth; and her most precious niece, Savanah Martin, all of Lewisville; her grandfathers, Harry Simons and Timothy Mann; her best friend, Chelsea Perry and by numerous other relatives and friends. Jennifer is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Patricia Mann and Virginia Simons.
Born on October 16, 1986 in Houston, Texas, Jennifer was taken from us too quickly and will be missed by all who crossed her path. She was a bright, shining star that always had a pleasant smile and kind word.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2008 at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 148 W. Church St., Lewisville, TX. Viewing and visitation with the family will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. with the service to begin at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established at Wood Forrest National Bank in Lewisville to assist the family with necessary expenses.
Terry Taylor
Terry Taylor, 49, of Justin went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 14, 1958 in Fort Worth. He attended the Argyle schools and graduated from Northwest High School. He married Tabetha Sanders on July 10, 1998.
Visitation will be Friday, July 11, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Pastor Buster Noel and Rev. Curtis Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Justin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Barker, Kelly Sullivan, Michael Perkins, Charles Haun, Josh Taylor, Bradley Williams and Clemon Gwartney.
He is survived by his wife, Tabetha, three sons, Jacob Taylor of Justin, Cody Taylor of Bowie and Casey Mitchell of Long Beach, MS.; three daughters, Samantha Taylor of Justin, Ashley Taylor of Rhome and Tiffany Taylor of Bowie; parents, James and Margie Taylor of Justin. He is also survived by three sisters, Lanette Gantz and husband Fred of Argyle, Tammy Browning of Justin and Trudy Crawford and husband Charlie of Justin; one brother, Larry Taylor of Denton as well as several nieces and nephews.

Dewey N. Miller
Dewey N. Miller, age 67, of Lewisville, passed away Monday, July 7, 2008, at his home. He was born May 26, 1941 in Dallas, Texas. Dewey served in the United States Army during the Cuban Crisis and was a member of the VFW Post #9168 in Lewisville.
He is survived by his son, Dewey L. Miller and his wife, Debi of Highland Village; grandchildren, Benjamin Graham Miller, Preston Miller, Tanner Scott and Dustin Scott; sister, Joan Katherine Hooten and husband, Bill of Aubrey; the mother of Dewey L. Miller, Bennie Miller Maus of Lewisville; nephew, Donald Hooten and wife, Elsie, their children, Elsie Katherine, Mollie Mae and Donnie Dustin Hooten; niece, Lesli Graham Campbell and husband, Mike, their children, Laney and Lily Campbell; and Dewey’s best friends, Scooter and Miss Kitty. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel L. and Mamie Graham; and by two brothers, Donald Gene Miller and Johnny Ray Graham.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2008, at First United Methodist Church, 907 W. Main Street, in Lewisville. Interment will follow at McCurley Cemetery in Lewisville.

Betty Faye (Anderson) Hughes
Betty Faye (Anderson) Hughes, 74, of Sanger, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 in Denton, Texas.
She was born on December 9, 1933 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Lee Crawford and Eva Elizabeth (Jack) Anderson. She received her B. A. Degree from the University of North Texas and she received her Masters Degree from Texas Woman’s University. She managed the Rialto and State Theatres in Denison and managed the Campus Movie Theatre in Denton. She worked as a secretary for the Ground and Maintenance Department at the University of North Texas before becoming the general manager of the Hughes Family Partners. On November 12, 1988, she married Gene A. Hughes in Denton, Texas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sanger.
Visitation for Mrs. Hughes will be held from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Coker Funeral Home, 403 Pecan Street, Sanger. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church, 115 N. 5th Street, Sanger, with Bro. Jon Eckstein officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Lorenzo Rios, Tim Baker, Spanky Rios, Shawn Pemberton, Richard Anderson, and Dale Dorvdant. Ronny Mitchell will serve as honorary pallbearer. Interment will follow at the Sanger Cemetery.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by two-step daughters, Greta Hughes Miller of Sanger and Diane Hughes Barentine of Dallas; brother, Billy Dean Anderson of Oletha; sister-in-law, Melba Anderson of Colbert, OK; four nieces, Carolyn Mitchell of Howe, Linda Pemberton of Denton, Charlotte Talbut of Sachse and Lauri Anderson of San Juan Capestrona, CA; nephew, Richard Anderson of Oletha; several great nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends. Her husband, Gene, preceded her in death on November 18, 2000.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Sanger or Victory Baptist Church in Groesbeck, Texas.
Grace Weiss Scott
Grace Weiss Scott, born August 20, 1924. Entered heaven’s gates on Tuesday, July 8, 2008. Proceeded in death by her husband, Gordon, in 1999.
Survived by daughters, Sharon and husband, Dick Nash, and Glenna and husband, Thomas Bailey; granddaughters, Shannon Nash Cook and husband, Michael Cook, Kali Raybon Ramos and husband, Cory Ramos and Kaci Raybon Wilson and Eric Murphey; grandson, Scott Nash and Amy Carroll; great grandchildren, Tiffany, Amanda and Savannah Cook, Justin, Grayce and Charity Riley, Haven and Brice Wilson and Maddison Murphey.
Grace was a member of First Baptist Church, Denton, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008 at First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone, Denton, Texas with Rev. Cliff Feeler, officiating. Visitation will be held from 7 – 8 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2008, at Mulkey Mason Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 Locust, Denton, Texas. Family will be available at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Friday.
