Frank J. Crockett
Frank J. Crockett, 74, of Aubrey, passed away on October 28, 2009 at his home. He was born January 13, 1935 in Collinsville, Texas to Joseph Martin and Mary Ann (Ainsworth) Crockett. He was married to Lynn Sparkman on June 30, 1956 in Aubrey, TX. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Krugerville, and a Mason. He was a Supermarket Manager.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Friday October 30, 2009 in the First Baptist Church of Krugerville, with Rev. Sam Redfearn officiating. Burial will follow in the Belew Cemetery at Aubrey. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8 pm on Thursday October 29 at the First Baptist Church of Krugerville.
Mr. Crockett is survived by his wife, Lynn Crockett of Aubrey; a son, Michael Crockett of Watauga; and two grandchildren, Katie and Gabi. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 5021 Hwy. 377, Krugerville, TX 76227.
Pallbearers will be: Larry Allen, Don Cecil, Dale Redfearn, Bailey Gilliland, Paul Redfearn, Bill Johnson.
Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust Denton, is in charge of arrangements.

Clifford J. Macsas
Clifford J. Macsas, 73, of Denton passed away Monday, October 26, 2009 at his residence.He was born August 7, 1936 in Shawnee, OK to James Joseph Macsas and Verna Viola Devers Macsas.He married Carolyn Boehme Eberhardt on April 21, 1988 in Dallas.
He had retired as Lieutenant from the Dallas Police Department after 30 years of service.Since his retirement he was a restaurateur, blackjack dealer, undersheriff of Lincoln Co., NM, published author of two police training books and an unpublished author of a western novel.He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 12553, St. Mark, Denton 3rd Degree and the Dallas Police Association.
Rosary will be said Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 7 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Denton.Memorial Mass will be Friday, October 30, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Denton.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Macsas of Denton; children, Terri Ruth Macsas Rankin and Clay Johnson of Denton, Deborah Ann Macsas Gallet and husband Phillip Gallet of Lewisville, Leslie Joe Macsas and Mary Macsas of Justin, Steven James Macsas and Jona Macsas of Denton, Laura Louise Macsas of Denton, Michelle D’Ann Hunter Sayre and Scott Sayre of Puyallup WA; 11 Grandchildren; sisters, Constance (Connie) Marie Breedlove and husband Lynn of Bethel, OK, Martha (Marty) Lee Koenig of Acton MA, Malvina Faye Seward and her husband Bob of Kemp, TX, Virginia Lynn (Ginnie Lynn) Brown and her husband Keith Brown of Mesquite, Darlene Jo Baker Hallmark, biological mother of his children, and numerous nieces and nephews and great grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew Jim Breedlove.

Ruth Elizabeth (Betsy) Tandy
Betsy Tandy of Denton, 81, died peacefully on October 25, 2009 after an eleven-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease.A memorial service to celebrate Betsy’s life will be held Friday, October 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Denton with the Rev. Matt Gaston officiating.
Betsy will be remembered for her dignity; her loyalty to family, friends, and students; her creativity; her zest for sports and her caring nature.
She was born on December 18, 1927, to Cyrus and Ruth Lacey Tandy in Philadelphia, PA. Shortly, the family moved to Carrollton, KY where Betsy grew up and attended high school.She received her B.S. degree from the University of Kentucky, M.S. degree from Indiana University, and her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University.She taught high school physical education and health in Columbus, Ohio.Her teaching, coaching, and leadership extended to Bridgewater, VA; Ohio State University, OH; and Texas Woman’s University where she taught from 1968 until her retirement in 1995.Dr. “T” was the supervisor for student teachers in physical education, taught Sport Sociology and the History of Medicine.She was named Chair of the Health Education Department in 1980.Betsy authored many professional articles and co-authored one book.She received numerous honors from students as Outstanding Advisor/Mentor, both locally and regionally.She was regarded as a teacher who set high standards and helped students achieve them.She was inspired and respected by her mentees.Additionally, her sports contributions as an athlete, sports official and coaching garnered her induction into the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995 and the TWU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006.
Through the years, Betsy was active in the life at First United Methodist Church as a receptionist and member of the Greeters Committee.She provided time and service to many civic organizations as a vital worker and member of Interfaith Ministries of Denton, the American Heart Association, United Way of Denton and Habitat for Humanity.
Betsy was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Cyrus (Bucky) Tandy III. She is survived by her loving family – sister, Mary Lacey Tandy Ballmann of Waukesha, WI; four nieces, Betsy, Barbara, Peggy Ballmann and Missy McFarlane of Waukesha, WI; one great niece, Amanda McFarlane; and one great, great niece and nephew, Kierra and Dominick.
Betsy also leaves her caring friend, companion and “best buddy”, Peggy Richardson of Denton; her extended families in the Carolinas, Jean and Lawrence Liles and family and Caroline Richardson Kayota and family; and her “Denton Family” Dr. Bettye Myers, Pat Miller, and Kay Kolb.
