Wayne Gray, 71, a long time resident of Denton and Cook County went to be with the Lord November 2, 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Neva Jo Gray of Callisburg, his son Don Swift and his wife Darenda, 7 granddaughter, 3 grandsons, 22 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his two sons, Randy Swift and Jack Jr.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Presbyterian Hospital ICU for their wonderful care.

He loved the Lord and family with all his heart. He will be missed.

 

 

 

Dorothy Mae Wedel Tieszen Linn

Dorothy Mae Wedel Tieszen Linn

Dorothy Mae Wedel Tieszen Linn, 89, of Denton passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Atrium Medical Center in Corinth, Texas. She was born February 25, 1920 in Moundridge, McPherson County, Kansas to Joseph J. and Lena (Stucky) Wedel. She graduated from Moundridge High School in 1937. She was a member of the Eden Mennonite Church and the Congregational Church in McPherson, Kansas. She married Charles Tieszen December 9, 1941 in Newton, Kansas. She married Clinton K. Linn in May 5, 1963 in McPherson, Kansas. She was a salesperson and homemaker.

She is survived by her three sons; Bob C. Tieszen of Sanger, Texas, James D. Tieszen and Dwayne A. Tieszen both of Denton, Texas, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Velma Guhr and brother, Harvey Wedel.

The family will be at Mulkey-Mason Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home 705 N. Locust, Denton 76201 for visitation on Friday, November 6, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2009 at the Petersen Funeral home, 215 North Main Newton, Kansas 67114.Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton Kansas. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday November 8, 2009 at the Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas.

James Arthur Grider

James Arthur Grider, 79, of Aubrey passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. God honored and blessed us as family and friends and all who were blessed enough to know him. Such a Christian man’s man is rare. He loved God, family and country and always helped the needs of others. He always loved animals and dedicated much love and care to them even the stray ones that seemed to know where we lived. James was an Air Force Korean War veteran.

James started the first mobile tire service for automobile dealerships nearly 60 years ago in Dallas and stopped his business in 2004. James and his wife Barbara operated Jabarra Arabian horse breeding farm.

James is survived by his wife Barbara Diane, three sons, David, Danny and Darrell, their wives Wanda and Kim. Also there are two grandsons, Jodie and James and a granddaughter, Katrina and several great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by another grandson, Christopher.

Visitation will be Friday, November 6, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors.Funeral service will be Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Pastor Ronnie Allen and Pastor Greg Thomas. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

James was blessed with a long blessed life. God took him home and we all hope to be there with him again at his mansion. He will be so missed as he was deeply loved.

Jesus put His arm around James and said “Grider it’s time to go home.”

Arlie Keeran Whitley

Arlie Keeran Whitley, 64, of Justin passed on Monday morning. He was born February 26, 1945, in Victoria, TX to Rual Quinn Whitley and Ida Mae Woods.

He was a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior and member of First Baptist Church Allen, TX.

He was preceded in death by his two fathers, R.Q. Whitley and R.C. Cranfill, and his two brothers, Jim and Raymond Whitley.

He is survived by his mother, Ida Mae Cranfill of Justin, his brother John Oates of Waco; his two children, Aaron Whitley of Prosper and Amy Callahan of Allen; five grandchildren, Whitney, Cade, Carson, Coen and Caylin.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening at Slay Memorial Funeral Center Aubrey, TX.Funeral services will follow Saturday, November 7 at 10 a.m.
