Anna Rose Burrow
Anna Rose Burrow went home to be with her Lord Thursday, November 5, 2009, having resided for the past five years at Autumn Oaks in Corinth, Texas. She was born September 10, 1908 in Lamesa, Texas Anna Rose was preceded in death by her husband J. B. Burrow who passed on November 22, 1994. They were long time residents of Denton, Texas. Anna Rose is survived by an only son Bill R. Burrow and his wife Catherine of Flower Mound, Texas and their daughters, Laura Lynne Scott of Franklin, Tennessee and her husband Tom along with her daughter Mary Catherine and son Charles Thomas; Elizabeth Lane Burrow of Ashland City, Tennessee and her husband Michael and their daughters Caroline Grace and Emma Rose; and daughter Leslie Ann Edwards of Medina, Ohio and her husband Terry and their sons Trenton William and Trey Morgan.
Anna Rose married J. B. on February 14, 1931 in Marietta, Oklahoma and had been married 63 years at the time of his death. She was one of nine girls born to James Tilton Ables and Flossie Mae Akin. She attended school in Drop, Texas and graduated from North Texas State Teachers College before becoming a teacher. Anna Rose and J. B. first resided in Ponder, Texas and eventually moved to the L. Bailey farm west of Denton during the 1930’s.
Having grown up on a farm, she learned the ways of farming, and later in marriage worked along side J. B. They moved into Denton where they soon purchased the first of three Burrow Furniture stores, all of which they eventually owned and operated until retirement. Working together, Anna Rose and J. B. operated each of the stores. In December of 1948 J. B. and Anna Rose were part of a group of founders of Grace Temple Baptist Church on Oak Street in Denton. From December 1948 to January of 1949 founders meetings and prayer meetings were held in their home at 907 W. Hickory Street until the attendance outgrew their home and the new church was formed. They were members at Grace Temple Baptist Church until death. Anna Rose led a faithful Christian life and was loved by both family and friends. After retirement Anna Rose and J. B. traveled extensively in their motor home. She enjoyed fishing and gardening, and was an accomplished seamstress. Anna Rose is gone but not forgotten and is now with her Lord.
A family graveside service, conducted by Rev. Joe Shafer, will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. A memorial celebration of life will be held at Autumn Oaks in Corinth, Texas. Date and time will be announced later. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton is in charge of arrangements.

Modelle Faye Milton
Modelle Faye Milton of Aubrey passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 in Denton. She was born on July 8, 1923 in Prosper, Texas to Hobert and Delia Williams Seals. She married Marshall L. Milton on December 23, 1942.
Viewing will be from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Monday, November 9, 2009 at DeBerry Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 2:00pm in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Harvey Junker will officiate.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Fowler and husband Robert of Aubrey, her brother, Jay C. Seals of Grapevine, four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her sister, Mary Strickland.
