David Randell Burchett

David Randell Burchett, 53, of Argyle, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008 at his home.  He was born July 19, 1955 in Celina, TX to Roy E. and Betty L. (Shaw) Burchett.  He worked in Construction. 

A graveside funeral will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the Graham Argyle Cemetery.

Mr. Burchett is survived by his mother, Betty L. Burchett of Argyle; sisters, Belinda Neal of Flower Mound and Tina Delka of Argyle; brothers, Chriss Burchett of Avinger, Darren Burchett of Argyle and Farren Burchett of Irving.  He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Eric Burchett.

Kimberlee Anne Bowling

Kimberlee Anne Bowling, of Corinth, TX, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Denton Regional Medical Center.  Kimberlee Anne (Barr) Bowling was born on May 21, 1961 in Sioux City, IA to Keith and Gaylene (O'Hern) Barr of Crofton, NE and was baptized at Westlawn Church in Sioux City, IA.  She graduated from St. Louis Park High School, in St. Louis Park, MN in 1979.  She attended Mankato State University before attending travel agent training. 

In 1984, she started her career in travel in Dallas, Texas.  Kimberlee proceeded to graduate Cum Laude from Texas Woman's University with a BA degree in Family Studies.  On August 31, 1986 Kimberlee married her husband of 22 years, Joe Bowling from Ft Worth, TX.  Together they celebrated their years by bringing to the world, their adoring son, Walker Andrew on May 11, 1995.  Always the entrepreneur, Kimberlee started a photography business, Picture Perfect Photography, and enjoyed volunteering at her son's school. 

Kimberlee enjoyed family time, spending time at the lake, reading, music and movies.  She loved being social and enjoyed nights out with the girls, music, travel, concerts, and casino time.  She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008 at 2:30pm at the Denton Funeral Home Chapel.

Kimberlee is lovingly survived by her husband, Joe Bowling of Corinth, TX; her son, Walker Bowling; her parents, Keith and Gaylene Barr of Crofton, NE; two brothers, Derrick Barr (Patty) of Crofton, NE and Daniel Barr (Deb) of Cedar, MN; one sister, Jennifer (Barr) Weber (Shawn) of Brookings, SD; and in-laws, Gene and Ala Brownlee of Collinsville, TX and John and Trish Bowling of Arlington, TX.   Kimberlee enjoyed spending time with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Dan and Vallie O'Hern and Grace and Roy Barr, and her uncle Joe O'Hern.

In lieu of flowers memorials for Walkers college fund are preferred.

Lee Payne Fox, Jr. 

Lee Payne Fox, Jr.  Lee was born in Dandridge, Tennessee on

March 3, 1941 and passed away on November 24, 2008 in Denton, Texas, at the age of 67.  He was preceded in death by his parents Lee Payne Fox, Sr. and Artelle Thornton Fox of eastern Tennessee, his first wife and mother of his children, Nancy Fox of Fairfax, Virginia, and a brother, John Fox of Hayes, Virginia.  He is greatly loved and will be missed by his surviving family including his wife, Donna Fox; children Debra McEnery and her husband Jim, Pamela Brown and her husband Jeff, and Bradley Fox; sister and brother, Loretta Gregg, Steven Fox and his wife Mary; four grandchildren, Ciara Young, J. P. McEnery, Katie McEnery, and Kevin McEnery.  Also surviving are six nieces and nephews and their families. 

Lee was an active member of St. Thomas United Methodist Church in Manassas, Virginia, and later Front Royal United Methodist Church in Front Royal, Virginia.

 In both churches, he served on numerous committees and participated in United Methodist Men and many outreach programs.  After moving, with his wife, in 2006 to Denton, Texas, he became a member of Argyle United Methodist Church.  Throughout his life, he served in civic and other organizations including Manassas Volunteer Fire Department, the Salvation Army Board, My Brother’s Table, Second Chance, the Warren Memorial Hospital Ethics Board, St. Andrews Mission, Citizen Police, and many others.

Lee retired from UFCW   in 1994 as Director of Members Benefits.  He was an avid hunter, gardener, and Washington Redskins football fan.  His warm and inviting personality, wit, compassion and strength will be missed by his family, church families, and many friends whom he loved and appreciated beyond measure.

A memorial service will be held at Argyle United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 11:00 A.M.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Argyle United Methodist Church, 308 Denton Street, Argyle, Texas 76226.

Jack D. Noell

Jack Noell, 80, of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Denton, surrounded by his family, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 1, 2008 in Colorado Springs, after a brief bout with cancer.

He was born to Harry and Lois Noell in Weeping Water, NE on July 18, 1928. 

His lifetime career was in sales and Jack spent several years in Denton with his family, working with his son, Kent, taking on business and management responsibilities. He valued his family, friends, and his faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Jack never met a stranger, and proclaimed his faith with his consistent response of, “I’m blessed.”  He had many friends and acquaintances here in Denton, even though he moved to Colorado 7 years ago, people still ask about him even today.

He leaves behind his children, Dr. Kent Noell and wife, Lynda of Denton, Schuylar Noell of Argyle and Laurel Noell of Houston; grandchildren, Christina Wallace (Jim), Dr. Melissa McDaniel (Troy), Stephanie Roe (Jayson), and Tyler Noell; great-grandchildren, Caden and Brennen Wallace and Jonathan and Julia McDaniel, all of Texas; sister, Betty Hennings; and nephews, Dennis Hennings and Steve Hennings (Rena) of Colorado Springs.  He was predeceased by his parents; and daughter, Cynthia.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Peaceful Valley, 7925 Fontaine Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80925.  Family internment was at Mountain Wilderness Memorial, Divide, CO.

Jerry Don Prater, 62, of Sanger, passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 at his home.

Mr. Prater was born on June 23, 1946 in Sanger to the late Dallas Andrew Prater & Lorene (Harris) Prater. He married Jackie Higgs on September 25, 1966 in Sanger. Mr. Prater retired from Victor Equipment Company after 41 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

His parents; and his brother, Larry Prater, precede him in death.

He is survived by; wife Jackie Higgs Prater of Sanger; one daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Greg Briney of Sanger; sister and brother-in-law, Keta and Al Keith of Sanger; sister-in-law, Mary Potts of Sanger; three grandsons, Garrett, Grant and Grayson Briney.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Coker Funeral Home, 403 Pecan Street, Sanger. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at the First Baptist Church with E.L. McNeal officiating. Interment will follow in the Sanger Cemetery, under the direction of Coker Funeral Home of Sanger.

Gordonville - Funeral Services for William Thomas Jaynes, 82, will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Faith Baptist Church in Gordonville with Rev. Jim Hardwick officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m., at Big Springs Cemetery in Garland. All services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at the funeral home.

William passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.

He was born April 16, 1926 in Linden, Texas to Thomas Stalcup Jaynes and Mary John (Duncan) Jaynes. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. William married Dorothy Marie Hill on November 18, 1966 in Richardson. He was a master electrician and retired as Director of Maintenance for Daingerfield and Lone Star Schools. He loved to travel and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Gordonville.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Jaynes of Gordonville; sons, Allen Jaynes and wife, Leesa of Springfield, MO and Carl Garmon and wife, Peggy of Rowlett; daughters, Gloria Emery of Denton and Trish Sparrow and husband, James of Prosper; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; a brother, O’Neill Jaynes and wife, Sue of Southlake; and four sisters, Jo Story of Little Elm, Bobbie Berryman of Crosby, Lorene Morris of Harleton and Mable Ball and husband, Buzzy of Lone Star.

His parents; a brother, Orville Jaynes; and a sister, Frieda Story, preceded him in death.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Philip Ellis Davis Jr.

Philip E. “Santa Claus” Davis Jr., 81, of Corinth, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2008, at Autumn Oaks Assisted Living. He was born on December 6, 1926, in Atalissa, Iowa to Philip and Elizabeth Davis. He was retired from the United States Army, where he served in World War II in occupied Japan. He also served in the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and in Kosovo. He was known as Santa Claus in the Lake Cities area. He was the Santa at numerous area stores and businesses.

Philip is survived by his son, Led Miyamota of Marysville, OH; daughter, Toshiko Shirley Davis Lukens of Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Aja Miyamoto; and brother, Earl Davis from South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
