Richard Trachta
Richard Trachta, 94, of Muenster passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009 at his home.
He was born July 18, 1915 in Muenster, the son of Henry and Ida Burkhart Trachta. Richard grew up and attended Sacred Heart School in Muenster. Richard was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1942. After four years of service, he was discharged and returned to Muenster. He was the manager of Shamburger Lumber Company.
Richard married Laura Huchton on December 26, 1945. They were blessed with two sons.Richard was a hard worker, loved playing dominoes and fishing. He was a great family man and a friend to many.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 am, Saturday, December 19, at Sacred Heart Church in Muenster. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rosary will be 5 pm, Friday, December 18 at McCoy Funeral Home in Muenster.
Richard is survived by his wife and their two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Gay Trachta of Decatur and Glenn and Janell Trachta, of Aubrey, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dave Trachta and Chris Fette, and two granddaughters, Amanda and Madison Trachta.
Ida M. (Hooten) Taylor
Ida M. (Hooten) Taylor, 81, of Denton, died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Denton Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Taylor was born on July 4, 1928 to Charlie C. and Susie (Meador) Hooten in Denton County. She married Ralph L. Taylor on April 16, 1946 in Denton. He preceded her in death on October 16, 2001, after fifty-five years of marriage.
She retired from Victor Equipment Company after twenty-two years of service. She was a beauty operator for many years and a charter member of the Gateway United Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 6 pm to 7 pm on Friday, December 18 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at 2 pm, Saturday, December 19 at Oakwood Cemetery, Denton, TX. Rev. Buddy Owens will officiate the service.
She is survived by her two daughters, Beverly Nicholson of Denton, Christal Sagan and husband Daniel of Austin, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, one brother, Norman Hooten of Denton, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Memorials may be made to the Gateway United Baptist Church, 2401 N. Bell Ave, Denton, TX 76209.
