Arthur L. McBride

Arthur L. McBride of Krum, Texas passed away June 26, 2008 in Plano.

Funeral services were held on June 30, 2008. Church services were in Denton with graveside services in Dallas.

Arthur serviced many customers in the Denton and Krum area in his landscaping service the mid 1980’s until his illness in 2004.

He is survived by his daughters: Christine McBride of Dallas and Teresa Miranda of Irving and 3 granddaughters.

Craig Leroy Tuggle

Craig Leroy Tuggle 51 of Decatur passed away Monday June 30, 2008 in Decatur.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Jones Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery # 1. The Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008.

Bearers of his casket will be Dale Hale, Steve Killingsworth, Bill Jackson, Robert Van Fleet, Charles O’Neal and Dave Wills. Honorary pallbearers are Greg Slankard and Chris Burns.

Craig was born October 2, 1956 in Prescott, Arizona to Ronald and Sharon Tuggle. He married Barbara Penland Nov. 23, 1979 in Phoenix, Arizona. Craig was a member of the Denton County Cowboy Church and the Brazos Trails Cowboy Church. His hobbies were water sports and being a private pilot.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Tuggle and brother, Michael Tuggle.

Survivors are his wife Barbara Tuggle; father, Ronald Tuggle; children, Stacy Tuggle, Bridget Canava, Dale Frerich and R.J. Frerich; Fourteen grandchildren and one great-grand child. 

Joe Lee Kelley

Joe Lee Kelley, 81, a homemaker, formerly of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 in Denton.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3rd at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in with Kevin Moore officiating.  Interment will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Krum, Texas.

Joe Lee was born July 19, 1926 in Graford, Texas, to Joseph Earheart and Elvie Lelia (Jenkins) Moore.  She married Floyd Junior Kelley on March 8, 1947 and was married 60 years until his death on January 14, 2008.

Survived by her son, Ronald Kelley and wife, Barbara of Clyde, Texas; daughters, Karen Clark and husband, Robert of Lewisville, Brenda Morrow and husband, Mike of Krum; 9 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

Joe Lee is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, JoAnn Teel.

Dorothy Mary Blackwelder

Dorothy Mary Blackwelder, 89, passed away Tuesday

July 1, 2008 at Fisher County Assisted Living.  Services will be 10 a.m. Monday,

July 7, 2008 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Pilot Point under the direction of

Huff-Slay Funeral Home in Pilot Point with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  Rosary will be 7 p.m. Friday July 6, 2008 at the Huff-Slay Funeral Home.  Dorothy will lie in state at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan until 5 p.m. Friday.

Dorothy was born August 17, 1918 in Lott, Texas to Frank Joseph and Mary Catherine (Stitz) Sutter.  She graduated from Marlin High School in 1936 and moved to Krum three years later.  She married Leonard Leo Blackwelder in 1941.  They moved to Pilot Point where he farmed and she was a homemaker until retiring in 1978.  Leonard passed away in 1989 and Dorothy moved to Liberty in 1992.  She later moved to Sweetwater and finally Rotan in 2005.  Dorothy loved gardening, working in her flowerbeds and quilting.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers (Walter A. Sutter and Raymond Sutter).
